EU Green New Deal should prioritise support for collective renovation!!
I have already praised the Global Covenant of Mayors which has an important role to play in the Green Industrial Revolution that needs to happen internationally.
The proposal below from the City of Antwerp for funding & initiatives to support “ collective renovation” is a no- brainer!
Having just had my own home retrofitted, it was an expensive and solitary business. The cost and labour efficiencies that could be achieved through mobilising districts and residential estates to engage collectively in retrofitting and renovation would makes such good sense!
If the EU’s Green New Deal is to achieve its ambitious goals then “ collective retrofitting and renovation” of properties definitely needs to be prioritised. Local authorities will need to play a lead role along with community partnerships, local businesses etc.
In front of different challenges, broad partnerships emerge as our greatest ally! 🤝
Join us and Britt Berghs, Project Coordinator at Linkeroever for the city of Antwerp 🇧🇪, in reflecting on the recent event “A new era for the European Renovation Wave”.

Having funded over 35 binational collaborations with the Lone Star State, the BIRD Foundation has witnessed firsthand the practical success of these partnerships. BIRD grants have brought together industry giants like Dell Technologies and Siemens with cutting-edge Israeli entrepreneurs, resulting in significant advancements across diverse sectors, from healthcare to renewable energy.
With Anat Ben Yosef at the helm in the South U.S., we anticipate even more opportunities to bolster ties between the regions and jointly accelerate tech development. BIRD's unique approach, comprising strategic matchmaking, non-dilutive grants, and official endorsements from key government agencies, can serve as a critical gateway to additional funding and expedited entry into global markets.
Looking forward to many more BIRD projects between Texas and Israeli companies. Their combined creativity and energy will undoubtedly chart exciting new paths in technology and collaboration - and we're committed to nurturing and championing their successes throughout their shared journey!
❗️Now is the time to explore the value of a BIRD partnership with our latest funding round open for proposals until March 7, 2024. See our Call for Proposals (https://lnkd.in/gGwPN8A) or contact Anat Ben Yosef for any assistance (by.anat@birdf.com).

Laura Gorman and I attended an excellent event yesterdayhosted by the Oxford-Cambridge Supercluster Board and sponsored by Bidwells (and others) and it reminded me that despite its many problems the UK has much to be proud about. Three comments I took away -
1. Andrew Williamson (Cambridge Innovation Capital) pointed out that as a nation we fail to celebrate success. There are things being developed in Oxford and Cambridge that have the potential to change the future of mankind.
2. Andrew Griffith (minister for state for science innovation and technology) pointed out that we cannot have innovation without a willingness to take risk, reminding us that the early explorers set off in boats thinking the world was flat!
3. The Oxford/Cambridge supercluster ranks amongst the best in the world and there are huge benefits being located in a cluster such as Harwell Science and Innovation Campus or ARC | Advanced Research Clusters because collaboration is key.
We need to accept that failure is part of the natural journey to success, build on what we already have and remind everyone that there is still “Great” in Britain.
On behalf of #RISE, thank you for the kind invitation #BusinessSweden and very nice to meet the deligates from Colorado. The discussions indicated many oppertunities for future colaborations and shared learnings, especially in areas of resource efficient water supply and management, carbon capture and within the energy sector. #climate, #resilience, #sustainability.

Puente Desarrollo Internacional has come a long way over the past 5 years. It's always rewarding to sit back and reflect on our collective impact--none of which would be possible without our amazing team, partners, communities and donors. Watching our team grow from a few people brainstorming in a small shack to what is now a growing organization of 60+ individuals is humbling and borderline overwhelming. Sure, there has been highs and lows but we have stayed true to our mission, and as a result we've been able to accomplish more than we ever thought possible.
It brings us great joy to share with you all our 2022-23 Impact Report. Please take a moment to read about all the great work you've helped us accomplish! We are encouraged and optimistic about what the future holds (full Annual Report coming soon!)
Special shoutout to the Day 1 Crew! Crismary Gutierrez, Hope Tambala, Paul Anthony, & Tiven Buggy 🎉
