As we transition into the new Fall term of the 2023-2024 school year, we encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education by preparing and participating in our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. When preparing for these meaningful engagements, three critical goals should be at the forefront of your planning: Understanding your child's progress: This includes not just their academic standing, but also their social behavior, learning habits, and overall development. Building relationships with educators: By fostering a good relationship with your child's teachers, you are better equipped to collaborate on strategies that support your child’s learning journey. Advocating for your child: With the insights you gain from these conferences, you are in a strong position to advocate for your child's needs, be it additional resources, personalized attention, or adjustments in teaching methods. Remember, your active participation in these conferences is crucial in shaping your child's educational journey from pre-school to 8th grade. Let's work together to unlock their full potential.

🧑🏫 The best part about being a teacher is that you get unconditional love from students 💫 This kind of love is not about perfection or achieving high grades; it’s about accepting each student for who they are, flaws and all. It’s about recognizing their unique strengths and helping them grow into confident and self-assured individuals. It’s about being there for them during their triumphs and struggles, and celebrating their successes no matter how big or small. Unconditional love from students is also a reminder of the profound impact that teachers can have on their lives. It’s a testament to the dedication and passion that educators bring to their work every day. It’s a validation of the countless hours spent planning lessons, grading papers, and mentoring students. It’s a recognition of the sacrifices made to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. In my experience, the best way to cultivate this kind of love is through empathy, understanding, and genuine care for each student. It’s about taking the time to listen to their concerns, offer guidance, and provide encouragement. It’s about being present and engaged in their learning journey, and showing them that they are valued and respected members of the classroom community. Day 12/100 🙌

BY MATTHEW LYNCH Empathy is a core social value, essential for building strong relationships and understanding the feelings of others. One innovative way to teach empathy in the classroom is by incorporating animals into lesson plans. This helps students learn to appreciate all living beings, fostering a more compassionate and empathetic society. To promote this important mission, we’re introducing the Classroom Kindness Giveaway focused on encouraging empathy through interactions with animals. The Importance of Teaching Empathy Teaching empathy in schools prepares students to better navigate challenges in their relationships with family, friends, and peers. It enables them to understand and respond appropriately to the emotions of others, fostering a caring environment where people can thrive. Engaging students with animals as a tool to teach empathy further expands the concept by demonstrating kindness and compassion towards all living beings.

Career Coach for Teachers ✦ Helping classroom teachers figure out where they’re headed in their career ✦ 1:1 coaching and Teachers at a Crossroads online course
It's Teacher Appreciation Week! What are YOU doing to show your kids' teachers how much you value them? Don't assume they know it already. Or that hearing it once is enough. Here's the plan for my family... 👉 Send a note to each of my daughter's teachers with specific examples of what I appreciate about them or how they've helped my sweeties. 👉 Participate in the schools' Teacher Appreciation Week events. (Taking in candy for their candy "bar" and helping chalk the school sidewalks with words of appreciation.) 👉 Help our 5 and 7 year old daughters make their own notes to share with their teachers. Even if you only have time to do one of these things, that's AWESOME. Or maybe you'll do more! But do SOMETHING. #teacherappreciation #grateful

Word of the year: advocate Because a lack of advocacy leads to burnout, overlooked needs, and missed opportunities. All educators should strive to be advocates for their students and themselves. However, it is increasingly critical to be an advocate for our students who have gaps in their education, who are learning a new language, culture, and content at the same time, who have not had the same educational opportunities, and our teachers who are trying to support all of these needs in their classroom. How can you support the learners in your classroom through a positive environment? How can you support the educators in your building to use strategies and scaffolds everyday? How can you support the principals to make the changes needed in their building? How can you support the families and communities who are navigating the school system and learning alongside their children? Let’s make 2024 a year of advocating for more solutions and less on focusing on the problems.

I have had such compelling speeches and research projects this year from my wildly smart students, and one thing stands out; the need for human kindness in life and learning. Each of my classes have a need to employ empathy, but this summer semester and beyond I will focus even more on the 6 pillars: Education and awareness, positive connections, creativity, courageous, advocacy, compassion, and well-being. https://lnkd.in/g6e7AQzY

In our enchanting world of early education, we're weaving a magical tapestry of manners and kindness. At KA- The Preschool , the magical words "I am sorry," "Thank you," "Please," and "Excuse me" hold the key to a harmonious and joyful learning environment. But why are these magic words important during early education? ✨ Saying "I am sorry": Little hearts learn the power of empathy and understanding, fostering a culture of compassion. 🌟 Expressing "Thank you": Gratitude becomes a daily practice, cultivating a positive atmosphere where appreciation blooms. 🎈 Using "Please": The magic wand for collaborative play, teaching our tiny learners the art of making requests with kindness. 🚀 "Excuse me" Adventures: Nurturing courteous communication, our little explorers navigate their world with politeness. As we strive to provide the best for our future generation, we would love your support on this wonderful journey. Let's make these special words not just the basis of education, but also of building good character. By teaching these words and their meanings at home, we can help children understand the importance of being polite and make it a habit throughout their school experience. Together, let's create a community where the magic of politeness shines brightly! 🌟🏫✨ KA- The Preschool #knowledge #kidsactivities #PrePrimaryMagic #PolitenessMatters #EarlyEducationMagic 🧚♂️📚
