We often discuss on Li the importance of *diversity, *inclusion, and *equity in our places of work and industries- and in the hockey industry & game of hockey it is no different.
That is why I am so excited to see the change and education the Hockey Diversity Alliance is creating by activating its purpose “To eradicate systemic racism and intolerance in hockey. We are committed to inspire a new and diverse generation of hockey players and fans” through this amazing event in Toronto.
While of course we automatically think about all the *diversity, *inclusion and *equity that is needed on the ice , I also think about the impact HDA will have to a diverse and inclusive generation of kids who will grow up to have careers in hockey off the ice- in commentating, data analytics, PR, marketing, rink ownersship, franchise ownership!
Amazing job to everyone behind the Hockey Diversity Alliance - this is just the start of something big!
*A side note: Personally I think we as a community should commit to always writing out the words “diversity, equity, and inclusion” vs just using DEI. These words need to be in print and seen. Our brains process words different when seeing/ reading them vs quickly passing over the acronym (because that is what acronym is for- to shorten the mental process of digesting a concept).
HDA #Winterfest will be an event like no other. We hope to see you there!!!

2wAmazing! Love my mats. I keep one at home and one in my car at all times for post-run stretching and foam rolling.
