Notably, they help detect any possible problems early on, allowing parents and healthcare providers to plan and choose the best care options, like specialized facilities, if there's a need for immediate attention or intervention after birth. Part 3 series findings include meetings held with medical billers and causal research. We've learned practices have ~$900 unreimbursed / non-monetized costs, per maternal patient. ➡️ Concerned and high-risk patients demand more time. Add this to our Parts 1 & 2 findings in the need to control increasing obstetric practice costs impacted by rising pregnancy, delivery and postpartum health risks. The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology posted this study with a specific objective: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gqcZaK-a Findings: Significant reduction in adverse effects (thereby reduced costs) by using a proactive care approach with women having 3 or fewer births - being predominant. Obstetric team design requirements were clear: ✅ enhance team’s ongoing care capability & outcomes ✅ improve patient engagement & experience ✅ easily and affordably improve ROI & revenue/patient Our Emagine team has collaboratively developed and introduced The Journey Platform perinatal RPM platform and App. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gbFiGy86 #obstetrics #pregnancycare #pregnancywellness #pregnancyjourney #obstetricsandgynecology

Can Scoliosis Affect Pregnancy? Many women with scoliosis worry about complications, birth defects, or fertility issues. However, decades of research have reassuring news: scoliosis doesn't significantly affect pregnancy, labour, delivery, or fetal outcomes. 🔍 Key Findings: Fertility: Scoliosis doesn't diminish fertility or increase risks of miscarriage or stillbirth. Pregnancy: Women with scoliosis experience pregnancy similarly to those without it. Labour and Delivery: Minimal or no additional risks are associated with labour and delivery. Epidurals can still be administered, though they may require precise placement by an experienced anesthesiologist. It is interesting to note that in the past, women who had scoliosis were scheduled for C-sections automatically. However, doctors found out that vaginal delivery is possible. Women with Scoliosis can experience "stalls" during labour due to crooked hips, and difficulty with pushing during labour. Even those who have undergone spinal fusion surgery can expect positive pregnancy outcomes. 💬 According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, “Women who have been successfully treated for scoliosis have only minor or no additional risks at all for complications during pregnancy and delivery. A history of scoliosis does not endanger the child.” For women with scoliosis, these insights can bring peace of mind and empower informed decisions about starting or expanding their families. Stay informed and consult with your healthcare providers. 🌟 #Scoliosis #Pregnancy #MaternalHealth #WomensHealth #MedicalResearch #Healthcare #ScoliosisAwareness #HealthAwareness

Sonography, also known as ultrasound, is a vital tool during pregnancy and plays a crucial role in monitoring the health and development of the fetus. It is recommended to have several ultrasound examinations during pregnancy to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the baby. The number of sonography sessions can vary depending on individual circumstances: 1. Dating Ultrasound: This scan is usually done early in the first trimester (around 6 to 9 weeks) to confirm the pregnancy, estimate the due date, and check for the heartbeat. It helps establish a baseline for the pregnancy and is crucial for ensuring the baby's growth is on track. 2. Anomaly Scan (Second Trimester Ultrasound): This scan takes place around 18 to 20 weeks of pregnancy. It is a comprehensive examination that assesses the baby's organs and detects any potential abnormalities or birth defects. This scan provides critical information about the baby's health and allows parents to make informed decisions about their pregnancy. 3. Growth Scan (Third Trimester Ultrasound): This scan is typically performed around 32 to 36 weeks of pregnancy. It helps monitor the baby's growth, amniotic fluid levels, and the position of the placenta. This information is crucial for ensuring that the baby is developing properly and preparing for a safe delivery. Ultrasound is considered safe for both the mother and the baby when performed by qualified medical professionals. It provides valuable insights into the pregnancy, allowing healthcare providers to provide the best possible care for both the expectant mother and her baby.
