Simon Sinek I believe we’re seeing this across the country within the workplace, organizations, religious communities, families, relationships, and friendships. We’re at a crossroad between figuring out what is right and wrong (similar to the prohibition era). Conflict happens though, it’s apart of life just as much as praise and recognition. But I believe humans are having a difficult time confronting the conflict that is in front of them. More so because of the possible consequences that can stem from conflict. Some people are direct about it (the best way within reason) others are more passive which can even be more toxic if things are drawn out and more fuel is added to the fire. Overall a culture is built off relationships, there are certainly other factors but if you don’t foster a culture where you can enjoy the good and handle the bad maturely than you’ll have a break down. And unfortunately so many people are worried about the money nowadays that they in turn stunt their own growth which can only have negative side effects down the road. Plus with free speech being hindered it’s difficult to speak one’s mind, and people’s inability, or unwillingness to understand.

Absolutely, Good company culture starts with giving people the Gift of Time. This can be as simple as taking a moment to talk to your team and discover their needs, wants, and professional aspirations. When people know that you are genuinely interested and invested in their development, they will move mountains for you.

In my opinion, perhaps it is too early for young people or those without much experience to have insight and empathy about the true nature of life and return earlier. Everyone is inherently compassionate and understands these values but many people are often swayed by the opposing views of the majority out there and hesitate to swim against the current to choose the right path. But the truth is only one: when you act sincerely for the benefit of others or the common good that is also how you invest in positive change and your own development. Of course, these small changes will certainly create significant and sustainable impacts in lives and communities. Aren't we here to go back and try to change for the better? The question is whether we now give ourselves the opportunity to look back, return, be ourselves and live according to those values. Whether you really like it or not, that's the true joy for yourself and the person you become on this journey.

Us versus them works against everyone in the end. It is not possible to be content while you need to constantly look behind your back because you treated others unfairly. The short-term gain may be sweet, but the long-term result is bitter and dark. And not like coffee bitter and dark, like fear and insecurity bitter and dark.

A business, its workers, and its clients are not mutually exclusive. We are on the same team! I guess it's easy to forget that when you need to pay the bills, but how about baking some care into that business plan? I believe that a having a genuine level of care comes back 10-fold. I've seen it! With clients, I've had multiple referrals in the past based on this. With team members, I've seen the sacrifices they've made, which is rewarded in ways they probably didn't expect. With business, well... who wants to do business with a business that doesn't really care?
