Anne-Cécile Violland proposes this radical change by suggesting a total ban on advertising for these brands." Over two decades of dedicated experience, I excel in providing comprehensive administrative and project management support, and successful collaboration with diverse audiences to achieve organizational goals efficiently.
I'm curious to see what will happen. I do love where the money from the fees will go towards. --- A fee starting at 5 euros per item would be implemented in 2025, incrementally rising to 10 euros by 2030, with a maximum charge of up to 50 percent of the item’s purchase price. That money would go toward a fund to promote public awareness campaigns, advertise the country’s newly implemented garment and shoe repair program and support sustainable clothing brands. The bill also proposes a ban on fast-fashion advertising, which could put an end to influencers’ famous “hauls” of their purchases. #fashionindustry #fashionnews #fastfashion
France’s First Move Against Ultra-fast Fashion; New Stretch Textiles: Sustainability Week

❌ No more ultra-fast fashion in France? Yesterday, a historic bill was passed by the French Assemblée Nationale which will heavily restrain brands like Shein and Temu. Here’s what you need to know: 🇫🇷 France continues to be at the forefront of making fashion more sustainable, having already banned overstock destruction through the AGEC law in 2022. Now it’s prepared to go further. Ultra-fast fashion has boomed in recent years. France is no exception. Through aggressive online advertising and extremely low prices encouraging excessive consumption, brands like Shein and Temu have gained huge popularity. 3.3 billion clothes are now bought every year in France, 1 billion more than 10 years ago. Shein produces 7,200 new references per day, with a total of 470,000 references in its catalog. That is 900% more than a traditional French brand. To tackle the problem, the French National Assembly passed a new law that will have serious consequences for the ultra-fast fashion giants. This is what is included: 👉 Ultra-fast fashion brands would be subject to fines of 10€ per product, or as much as 50% of the selling price by 2030. 👉 The bill would also prohibit advertising for ultra-fast fashion brands and products. But is it enough? NGOs and other associations like La Fédération de la Mode Circulaire, which FINDS is a part of, argue that the definition of “fast fashion” is too limited. With the current definition, brands like Primark, H&M and Zara would not be affected, as they produce “only” around 5,000 new product models per year, which is lower than the threshold to be impacted by the legislation. While the business models of these brands are less extreme than those of Shein and Temu, the traditional fast-fashion brands still heavily pollute the planet. The bill will now proceed to the Senate. There, it will be determined how many daily references produced by a brand will classify it as a "fast fashion" brand, thereby subjecting it to the legislation. What do you think about the new proposal, does it go too far, or not far enough? #Antifastfashion #frenchfashion #sustainablefashion

This weekend, SNL published a satirical Fast Fashion ad that hits 💯 If you are in the fashion, footwear, or other "fast" consumables industry, I urge you to take this issue seriously. Ethical arguments aside, SheIn and Temu are creating an unbearably competitive race-to-the-bottom industry by profiting from forced labor and tax evasion. No wonder so many fashion brands are shuttering. It's time we hold law-breakers accountable by passing The Fashion Act. This legislation includes labor due diligence, climate, chemical usage, and water usage provisions. Big News for Fast Fashion French Parliament is considering slapping a €5 fee on each piece of fast fashion clothing from places like Shein and Temu. Our relationship with #fastfashion HAS to change. Tonight's BBC Panorama's deep dive into Boohoo's buying practices highlights the enormous textile waste the industry creates and the unhealthy consumer thirst for buying rapidly changing fashion trends as quickly as possible. #Gumtree's Naked Protest outside London Fashion Week in September called on the world’s leading fashion houses and designers to put an end to ‘wear it once’ culture once and for all. And for the fast fashion retailers to stop the pressure to buy, buy, buy. Our research found: 👉 1 in 5 people feel pressure to purchase new items to keep up with trends 👉 Brits are targeted with an average 10 alerts every week from brands via app notifications, emails and text messages - encouraging them to make purchases they otherwise wouldn’t have. 👉37% of these rash purchases are regretted by buyers, costing both the planet and our purses. #circulareconomy #panorama #fastfashion

Are you treating your marketing content like a £2 SHEIN top? 😳 🔹Save this mini-guide now so that you can go back to it 🔹Swipe to find out if YOU have a “fast fashion marketing mindset” (and how you can make it more sustainable) Had you ever thought about your marketing from this perspective? PS. I’m like that with actual fashion, too. Years ago, I was very ignorant on this subject and used to go for Primark hauls WITHOUT knowing/thinking about their consequences 😔 Now, I stopped supporting brands that promote overconsumption, choose unsustainable fabrics, and hide sweatshops. And I prefer second-hand 80s clothes, anyway 😍 #BrandMessaging #Marketing
