A little more than a year ago, EPRI and industry stakeholders embarked on Climate READi to tackle the pressing challenges to our electric system posed by changing climate and extreme weather. Today, as we reach the one-year mark, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made. With more than 100 participants — including energy companies, national labs, regulators, and stakeholders in between — we’ve produced more than a dozen resources actively helping energy companies prepare for extreme weather. Learn more about Climate READi and EPRI’s industry-wide efforts in the report below, and join the State of READi webcast tomorrow:

Adaptation Scientist * Leadership * Climate Adaptation * Career Development * IPCC * Innovation * Decisionmaking Mindsets
Cognitive dissonance is when people can hold two opposite views at the same time. In this case, it’s countries’ commitment to strong climate action while continuing coal, oil and gas. We need to achieve “cognitive harmony” on climate where our thoughts and actions align. Such cognitive harmony needs to embrace both mitigation AND adaptation. The IPCC has been very clear on this for years: strong climate action and policy is about reducing emissions AND investing in climate adaptation so that we can keep our communities safe from current and future impacts. It’s definitely not EITHER/OR but YES/AND 💪🤩. #climatechangeadaptation #climateaction #climatechange #climatepolicy
