Behind us were a huge number of challenges, solved problems, tests, ideas, and a lot of satisfaction that came from achieving more small successes 🌎 Here are some conclusions we can share with you after this time 👇 ✅ Plan precisely - the foundation in the form of a plan is the most important element from which work begins. You need to know exactly the budget, deadlines, and goals. Track the effects and make adjustments on an ongoing basis. ✅ Diversify audience groups - a game that is to gain popularity in the future must meet the expectations of multiple audience groups. These can range from people who occasionally turn on the game for relaxation to professional players who may stream gameplay in the future. Each of these personas must find benefits for themselves in your future product. ✅ Focus on quality - a game is a combination of many elements. You can't focus on just one, such as graphics, and not invest your work in others. Each element must be refined as best as possible. Different user groups may value different features in a game. At the same time, never overlook the issue of application performance. ✅ Iterative approach - not everything goes perfectly from the beginning. Test and make improvements. Experiment and see if something works. Arrange it as an iterative process. ✅ Unexpected events - when combining the game with blockchain, you have to reckon with the changing fortunes of this market. 🚀 Excited to share my latest project I did for a client - The Wall Street Games NFT Marketplace! 🎮🔗 Wall Street Games is an innovative hybrid blockchain-based gaming platform, where players can earn cryptocurrencies by diving into engaging games, collect unique NFTs, and win exciting rewards! 💰🎉 Let's dive into my approach and the tech stack behind it. 💻🔍 Thought Process & Technology Choices: When starting this project, my aim was to craft a user-friendly UI while keeping the application decentralized as musch as possible. 🌐 React + Vite: Opting for React alongside the Vite build tool was a natural choice for me. Transitioning from the deprecated CRA to Vite allowed for a streamlined development experience recommended by the React team. 🛠️ The Graph Protocol: The primary challenge was efficiently accessing and updating blockchain data. Leveraging The Graph's subgraphs and GraphQL queries made this process seamless. I developed subgraphs to track marketplace events and sync data from the WSG NFT contract, ensuring up-to-date information for users. 📈🔗 Orbis Labs SDK: While The Graph Protocol handled blockchain data, I integrated Orbis for user authentication and profile data storage on the Ceramic decentralized network. This approach maintained decentralization while offering users a seamless experience. 🌐🔒 Solidity: To enhance trust and security during NFT trades, I implemented a Solidity smart contract for listing and purchasing NFTs. Is Ronin the web3 “game console”? Ronin is the chain operated by Sky Mavis, makers of Axie Infinity, which has a $1b NFT market cap and has done $60m in trading volume in the last month. Ronin is a permissioned chain - you have to be selected by Sky Mavis to be on it, and they are very selective. Ronin is not just a chain but has built a unique publishing capability - leveraging all those Ronin wallets, emails and the $900m in liquidity of its token, not to mention significant crossover cred between crypto degens and gamers to drive the success of handpicked games on their platform. The first game they did this with was Pixels, a social farming game. It had a few thousand daily actives and a $2m NFT market cap. After moving to Ronin, they have blown up to 400k daily actives and on Monday, Pixels dropped its new token which quickly generated $1b in trading volume. This surge is being called the “Ronin effect”. Yesterday, Ronin launched its second game - an action RPG based on Kaidro, a anime brand from writer Tim Hedrick, known for his work on “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Voltron: Legendary Defender, that has become very popular on Webtoons. Early days as with all things web3, but the reason I call this a web3 “console” is that Sky Mavis is more than just a publisher, Ronin is a platform. And like a console, it is selective about the titles on its platforms and focused on high caliber exclusives. Will be interesting to see where this goes…
