What an engaging evening at Ascend River North for our 7/9 @smokeresponsiblysocial Guided Expert Conversations Series! Jason Ortiz & Craig Cesal in collaboration with attendees reminding us the real implications of the ongoing war on cannabis. Also, that a key part of breaking the stigma & being responsible is having discussions about using cannabis. •There seems to be great need for transparency & accountability systems : social & tax programs •Marijuana is still federally illegal. Meaning state players can still catch a case. •School to prison pipelines still exist. Drug policies are targeting communities & tearing them apart. •Even in state legal markets there are still underserved markets by the “legal” licensed apparatus. Why should the rich have all the goods? •The Power is really in the people. We must better organize & activate for the reality we want to live. 😃We were only a couple organizations & political representatives short of having a full blown think tank session. It was all love, informative, educational, and some say “fun” 😎 Big shout out to the wonderful Claire Warne for being an ally🙏🏾💜 Thank you to our supporters Cannexus LLC Alexis Zimmer - State Farm Agency Illinois NORML BAKPAK Hemp Co(formerly Louisiana Hemp Extractors LLC ) Ascend Wellness Holdings (CSE: AAWH.U / OTCQX:AAWH) 👻Join us next month for our Costume Social on Halloween with Cannabis Equity IL Coalition discussing the state of cannabis equity in IL, Legislative Efforts, Volunteering & more! https://lnkd.in/gYbw4B7J #SecondChanceFoundation #CraigCesal #SSDP #LPP #SmokeResponsiblySocial #DailyRoller #AchieveThePursuit #FreeCannabis #ChicagoEvents #communitybuilding #chicagocommunity #ilnorml #WarOnDrugs #collaboration #entrepreneurship #cannabisconsciousness This content is educational, informative, entertaining. Happy 420 Eve! Many of you will be hosting events and engaging with your #community in some way tomorrow. Here's some tips on how to connect beyond the sale: One of my favorite things to do as a marketer is find common threads. No matter the dynamic between the groups I'm trying to link together, there are universal truths or what I like to call *sparks* that ignite conversation, action and time invested. Here's one - Personal Preference / Opinion-Based Controversy Examples in marketing: Does pineapple belong on pizza? 🍍🍕 (Domino's) Still don't know if Ross cheat or ... 💔? 😭 (Friends) Best 🌿 in Michigan? 🤔👀 (Cannabiz) Can I just match with strains instead? 😅🌿 If I hosted a Bud Machelor, which strain would I FMK? ♥️👰🏼♀️🔪 (Lifestyle Cannabis - Joking about Online Dating) What sparks exist in the communities you serve? The more sparks, the stronger relationship, loyalty and ultimately profitability you have. 😎 #cannabis #cannabiz #cannabiscommunity

We’re all drawn to the cannabis industry for different reasons. But it’s our ‘why’ that keeps us persevering. For Marc Whitehair, Account Manager with Wana Brands in Colorado, it’s all about the community. WHAT’S YOUR PERSONAL “WHY” (YOUR PASSION) FOR WORKING IN CANNABIS? To help push the community forward, to meet some of the most amazing people, and to feel like I found a home that doesn’t view me as a criminal. WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY, WHAT PERKS AND/OR RISKS DO YOU SEE? A perk is to feel free to express the love and care for our plants, patients, partners, and customers. CANNABIS HELPS ME ______ Feel free to be myself. HOW HAS WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY IMPACTED YOUR CANNABIS USE? YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE PLANT? I actually take more tolerance breaks and treat my consumption/stash drawer with more respect. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CANNABIS WORK COMMUNITY? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WORK ENVIRONMENTS YOU’VE KNOWN? It’s got the good and bad. Find the helpers and be a helper. #thatsmywhy #cannabiscommunity

Tip 'o the cap to Nate Landau and friends for working toward access in the city of Walnut Creek. I will post this to our own 200 member Sonoma Valley Cannabis Group as a reminder that we are not alone in the struggle to bring reasonable access to patients and consumers. 61% of cities and counties do not allow any retail cannabis business. #cannabisindustry #cannabiseducation #cannabispolicy #cannbislaw #sonomavalleycannabisgroup #cannabis #cannabisbusiness #cannabiscommunity #cannabisretail #cannabismarketing #dispensary #sonoma #cannabisnews
As Etienne F. very wisely said "if you do not have a seat at the table then you are on the menu". The #cannabiscommunity has been on the menu for decades. Thanks to decades of sacrifice, hard work, and perseverance of amazing cannabis activists, we are closer than ever to freeing this amazing plant. The flight is far from over. Things are not going to change on their own. It is unfortunate but a lot of people especially politicians, are still willfully ignorant about cannabis. Get involved on any level you can. clearly articulate a problem and have a solution. Remember that elected officials work for you and if they promise something and do not deliver hold them accountable. Thank you Greg Kremenliev Zinnia Loya Falguni Dave and Ian Clark for helping to hold Walnut Creek City Council accountable. #cannabisindustry #cannabiseducation #cannabispolicy #cannbislaw
