Our emotions are intricately connected to our physical health. When we bottle up or suppress our feelings, it can have a ripple effect on our immune system and nervous system, potentially leading to physiological issues down the line. This is because our emotional state and our bodily functions are deeply intertwined. Embracing and processing our emotions, rather than repressing them, is crucial for maintaining overall well-being. One powerful tool that can aid in this process is breathwork. Through conscious breathing exercises and practices, we can help release blocked emotions and promote a sense of calm and regulation in our nervous system. Breathwork allows us to connect with our bodies and tap into our innate capacity for self-healing. By bringing awareness to our breath and slowing down our breathing patterns, we can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest and digestion. This counteracts the stress response of the sympathetic nervous system, which can be heightened when we suppress our emotions. As we release emotional tension through breathwork, we create space for emotional processing and integration. This, in turn, can support a healthier immune system and overall physiological well-being. Remember, our emotions are not meant to be suppressed or ignored. They are indicators of our internal landscape and deserve to be acknowledged and expressed in a healthy manner.

The human body is an intricate and complex system, far beyond just the tangible physical aspect. According to various traditions, we are also composed of several layers of energy, known as the subtle bodies. These layers surround us, each influencing our physical, emotional, and spiritual health in profound ways. Understanding these subtle bodies and their impact on our health can open the door to deeper wellness and inner harmony. First, let's explore the basic concept of the subtle bodies. They are commonly categorized into a few key layers, each with its unique function and influence: 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆: This is the closest energy layer to our physical body, mirroring its shape and form. It's said to be the blueprint for our physical existence, governing our vitality and overall well-being. 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆: This layer is responsible for our feelings and emotions. It's where our emotional health resides, impacting how we react to life's ups and downs. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆: Housing our thoughts and beliefs, the mental body plays a crucial role in shaping our perceptions and interactions with the world. 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀: Beyond the mental body lie the spiritual layers, which connect us to higher states of consciousness and the universal energy. So, how do these subtle bodies impact our health? Imbalances or disruptions in any of these layers can lead to discomfort or disease in the physical body. For example, prolonged stress (mental body) or unaddressed emotions (emotional body) can manifest as physical symptoms or illnesses. Disease starts in the subtle bodies before it becomes apparent in the physical body. Negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, or unresolved emotions create blockages in our energy flow, leading to diminished vitality and eventually physical ailments. This perspective suggests that by healing and balancing our energy, we can prevent or alleviate physical diseases, promoting a state of holistic health. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵? Practices such as meditation, yoga, & mindfulness aim to harmonize these layers, promoting energy flow and balance. By becoming more in tune with our subtle bodies, we can identify imbalances early and optimize our health.

What is your path look like 2024? The path to health will look different every single day even every moment. The path to your goal, our best life, to healing sounds wonderful, sounds rewarding, and it is. It is also exhausting, sometimes increasingly painful, and rewarding. I’ve noticed with my clinical patients that “change” the most difficult part of following their path to …. Change what you eat, your sleep, your way of THINKING! Change is do things differently, see things differently, and think differently. According to Chinese Medicine and science our thoughts become Qi (energy), Qi (energy) becomes matter which creates our body. Qi is our vital energy source of life and is the that communication source of your body functions and emotions. How you think of change will determine how our Qi creates our atoms which creates our body and mind. You get to choose your path, you get to choose to change, you get to feel good! You will need to change! The way you prioritize the importance your health provides you the energy/motivation to you need to make changes and stay on the path health and joy. When you ignore pain, poor sleep, being irritable you are choosing a path of poor health. When you Qi path of pain, illness, or emotional distress you are not taking responsibility for your health. Today’s choice to ignore your normal headaches, poor digestion, awful sleep will cause your health problems in your future. The path to healing, recovery, and maintaining health will have a few beautiful moments, ugly moments, bump’s, and turns, but your future self will thank you. Choose your path to health in 2024, stop living a life of “it’s fine” ! Much Love
