Leading an impactful, integrated communications campaign is so much more than just stitching together different components to tell a story. It’s about being strategic – delivering the right message to a targeted audience during a peak time using the best tools for the highest performance. So what does that look like in practice? 🔥 Outline a Plan... Anchored by a Timely Hook: “When” you launch your campaign is just as important as “how” you launch it. We could have shared this news at any time but chose National #WildfireAwarenessMonth as a natural tie-in with other conversations happening about this important topic. 🔥 Build a Dream Team: Despite our best efforts, no one is an expert at all forms of communication. Leading a strategic comms campaign means pulling in individuals who are highly skilled at the tactics you want to deploy. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented communicators in the business on this campaign and website launch from visual artists and executive communication pros to advertising and social media experts. 🔥 Identify Spokespeople: Notice I said “people” not “person?” Great campaigns are those that are delivered by diverse voices, not just one person. Recognize the strengths of different executives and experts, as well as their differing audiences and perspectives. Help create and tailor authentic messages that best resonate for each, which in turn will extend your reach. 🔥 Deliver and Optimize: Turn those words into action! But the fun doesn’t stop there; the learnings we gain from seeing a campaign play out are arguably even more important than the campaign itself. As communicators, we can’t be afraid to #failfast and #grow. It’s how we can continuously optimize performance, ensuring we are delivering important messages where it matters most. Can you tell I’m beyond proud of the work our Lockheed Martin communications team has done to support this mission and honored to be part of this incredible, supportive team? You can be too, we’re #hiring! Check out the careers section at the bottom of our new landing page, which tells the story of how we are using innovative technology to help fight wildfires. #WeareLM

Introducing our new product at #VOICES24 Mission Control — the navigation system for strategic communication 🧭 One absolute highlight from the keynote by our founder Martin Böhringer was the introduction of Mission Control. With this new product, strategic communication can not only be planned, collaboratively created, and published. It also offers you the opportunity to measure the impact of communication. 📊 We’re convinced that communication is one of the greatest drivers of business success for companies. Inspired teams achieve more. And inspiration begins with communication. With a vision and a narrative that unite all employees and motivate them to work towards a common goal. 🏁 However, this business impact of communication is very difficult to control and even harder to prove. Until today. Because we have developed a navigation system for corporate communication that keeps the entire organization on course through communication: Staffbase Mission Control. It combines strategic and operational tasks in one central solution: ⤵️ 📅 Planning of topics, campaigns, and content 🤝 Co-creation: collaborative content creation 📊 Measurement: Analyzing the impact of communication Here is the link to a blog article with further information about Mission Control and an opportunity to sign up for the Open Beta program: https://lnkd.in/eyKycG7z #VOICES24 #MissionControl #StrategicCommunication

Crisis communication consultant, Author of Crisis Communication Strategies and Everyday Communication Strategies, helping with crisis, risk, recovery communication and issues management
I am grateful for the opportunity to talk about emergency communication. It should be an interesting discussion. In this world of chaos and crises we have to be ready. Find details below 👇 #crisiscommunications #crisismanagement
When we think about "emergency communications" we often link it to major incidents such as big fires, floods or terrorist atrocities. Yet, there will be numerous other examples where the same thinking needs to be applied, whether that be a power outage, an incident at a school... or dare I say it, a reputational issue. Therefore, we should be regularly assessing the strength of our emergency comms plan, how it links to our organisational plan, and what we need to do to develop it further. To help, I am pleased to say that Westco communications is running a free "Lunch and Learn" on the steps that we need to be taking now to ensure that we are prepared. The session is being run by ex-GMP Director of Communications Amanda Coleman who is one of the UK's foremost experts on emergency communications. Through Westco, she is helping to design templates and guidance that we can all use so none of us have to do the heavy lifting. The free event is on Thursday October 19th from 12pm - 1pm. Book your place here. https://lnkd.in/gi5QRnn3
