What long feedback wait times does to an employer's brand: ❌ Perception of unresponsive and disorganization ❌Negative word-of-mouth -especially when candidates share negative experiences on platforms like Glassdoor. ❌Losing top talent to competitors ❌Candidates losing trust in you as an employer ❌Shows that the company doesn't value the candidates and the skills they offer. 94% of job applicants want to receive feedback. Yet only 41% ever receive any. That's not just a discrepancy, it's a disconnect. Your silence doesn't just disappoint candidates. It tarnishes your employer brand. And it sends a loud message that you're indifferent to the very people you're trying to attract. But guess what? It doesn't take much to be different, to stand out in the crowd of employers. All it takes is a simple, respectful, and timely feedback message. Candidates invest time, effort, and, more importantly, hope. The least we can do is let them know how they did and empower them to do better.

Why do candidates struggle to receive feedback from potential employers in today's job market? Feedback matters now more than ever: In my experience, companies increasingly provide generic feedback or none at all, emphasizing the challenges of the competitive market. But feedback isn't just a nicety; it's crucial for building trust and credibility with candidates. In a talent-flooded market, standing out as an employer of choice is crucial. Again, candidate feedback isn't just a courtesy; it's a strategic tool for building a positive employer brand and nurturing relationships with potential hires. While detailed feedback can be time-consuming, even a brief explanation can make a world of difference to candidates. It shows that you value their time and effort and provides valuable insights for their professional growth. I know it's a tough balance to juggle, but it's worth it. What do you think?

Valuing Constructive Feedback in the Job Application Process Good Afternoon LinkedIn community! Today, I received an update regarding my application. While I didn't get the job, I remain optimistic and eager for future opportunities. This experience has reminded me of the importance of constructive feedback in the job application process. Detailed feedback not only helps candidates understand their strengths and areas for improvement but also demonstrates an organization's commitment to fostering professional growth. As candidates, we invest time and effort into each application, and thoughtful feedback can make a significant difference in our career journeys. It helps us refine our skills, align our goals, and ultimately, find the right fit where we can thrive. I encourage HR professionals to provide comprehensive feedback whenever possible. It builds a positive candidate experience, strengthens the employer brand, and contributes to the professional development of all applicants. Let's continue to support one another in our career paths with transparency and encouragement. #CareerGrowth #JobSearch #ProfessionalDevelopment #HR #FeedbackMatters #CandidateExperience #JobHunt #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceCulture

Every conversation is an opportunity to inspire, and broaden thinking. In a brief conversation last night on Employee value proposition, it really got my wheels turning, and I would love your additional thoughts or commentary: Every employer has the desire to be a talent magnet, but is that the right strategy? Leveraging a term that has now become generic such as talent magnet, may actually be putting more pressure on your recruiting team and be inefficient as you may be a talent magnet, but not a magnet for the talent you need. What if we dove deeper and our talent acquisition strategy attracted the talent we are looking for. Perhaps something like this: To be the talent destination for the inspired, passionate, and believers. Now this may not be perfect either, but what it does is tells potential job seekers, you will be successful, and have a great experience here if you are inspired by the work, passionate about the products, services, or industry, and believe in the mission/vision. There is also a lesson here for job seekers, by looking at the company’s employee value proposition, you can make the determination if the company and position are best for you. I welcome feedback, alternative thinking, or dialogue.
