The reality is: Some of us have kids and the holidays are approaching and bills need to be paid! Guess who is hiring in the meantime: 1. Seasonal retail roles 2. Gyms 3. Hotel Bartending roles 4. Virtual Assistant roles 5. Call center jobs 6. Starbucks 7. Target 8. Overnight stocking positions I know it’s not an attractive job and isn’t a “FAANG” company but some of us have to do what we can while we wait, network and apply to jobs in our field that we deserve and have worked hard for and finally get that one “YES” after an interview. I have a few interviews coming up for seasonal and temporary roles for the holidays until I hear back from recruiters, job applications and countless LinkedIn InMail messages that share my interests and qualifications for the role I’ve applied to. To whomever is reading this and in my position, I pray you find something temporary and seasonal to help you and your family out until your big break comes! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today was my first day at my waitressing job, having my own tables. My first day completely on my own. This is the first waitressing job I’ve ever had, by the way. I really enjoyed it. I had two tables of customers specifically ask me when I’d be working, because they said I did such a good job & wanted to have me as their waitress again. One group of longtime customers told our hostess that they were impressed by me & appreciated the service I provided. I share this, because… This is my first waitressing job. I never had prior experience. My only restaurant experience was being a cook. And these were my results, on my first day. Oh, and in addition… -I’m naturally introverted. -I’m naturally a very reserved person. But, here’s the thing… In any “extroverted” job I’ve ever done… Whether it’s been sales, recruiting, or now waitressing… I’m myself. My introverted self who listens more than talks. And makes sure to get things right for my customers, without mistakes. And works incredibly hard. One of my biggest frustrations in hiring throughout my career, has been the biases of other people (that are usually wrong). I’m sharing this post because we need to stop biases in hiring. Hire the person who is best for the job. That can mean such a variety of variables, so let’s stop with the “bullet points” and actually think for ourselves. Sincerely, The INTJ Recruiter (Who has been moonlighting as a cook 👩🍳 and also now, a waitress!) #hirebetter #biasawareness #biases #introvert #introverts #thinkoutsidethebox #skillsforsuccess

Head of Store Operations - Bringing transformational leadership through high EQ, with the ability to influence, inspire and create high performing teams
#bepartofsomethingspecial Not just a hashtag but a symbol of what happens when you come and work with us, not for us. Three mottos I work by are:- What the Customer sees How the Colleague feels When the Accountant smiles All three combined are delivered by having a genuine “OneTeam” approach to the balance of work and having personal goals in your life. Anyone can do the short game and focus on just one but it takes real teamwork to balance all three and not one individual in my opinion makes that happen. We are growing as a Business and that means further opportunities to develop a career with us in AD or for some, just wanting to combine a love and passion for fishing with a job that will welcome your management expertise. So check my connections, ask people who work for me now and who have worked with me in the past. As one very good friend of mine says, measure people on what they do and not what they say… We have a live Store Manager Vacancy in our Cardiff Store and also vacancies for Sales Advisors that are at the heart of our Business in Guildford, Bristol, Slough & Chelmsford. Regardless if we don’t have a vacancy now, send me a message and I promise you, that I genuinely “will keep you on file”. So if you have an AD near you anywhere in the country and you fancy working in a culture that values you, then #bepartofsomethingspecial Craig Jones Steve Crowe Wouter Putman Shona Wright MCIPD Simon Morris Oliver Harper Allan Thornby Craig Ward Nick Pinder Hugh Carter Jessica Swain Sam Copeman Carl Juckert #creatingsomethingspecial #bepartofsomethingspecial #oneteam #whatthecustomersees #howthecolleaguefeels #whentheaccountantsmiles #culturematters #leadership #angling #fishing #cardiff #jobs #vacancies #anglingdirect
