Every other day is a bird strike related safety issues at the airport, some are horrific while others are not. Regardless of the outcome, some person’s are designated to limit this threat to aviation safety and I am proud to be part of the team doing all we can to protect the airspace from bird strikes. The Federal Aviation Administration strike database shows that birds make up 98% of the reported aircraft strikes, mammals about 3%, and reptiles less than 1%. In the United States, annual losses associated with strikes are estimated at $500 million while an estimated global annual cost of $1.2 billion for commercial air carriers, this value is for adjusted reported strikes. With increased concern for aviation safety, aircraft collisions with birds have become a globally recognized hazard demanding mitigation, planning, and increased safe operations.. remember while you board the aircraft, others are making sure you land safely behind the scene. #aviationindustry #birdcontrol

Drop night! Pilot to aircraft reveal... For the record, and to put this in perspective...there are more astronauts on the planet than there are B-2 pilots. As one of the, if not the most feared aircraft on the planet, with approximately 80 pilots that can fly the B-2. Each aircraft has a crew of two, a pilot in the left seat and mission commander in the right, and has provisions for a third crew member if needed. For comparison, the B-1B has a crew of four and the B-52 has a crew of five.

“Airmanship”; is such a unique feature that, although the İnternational rules and regulations require it, not every pilot can have it. However, every pilot can work hard to maximize his/her talent, skill and proficiency level. And if one day, at any time, a challenge knocks on the door, the pilot's invaluable weapon will be his/her self-confidence and competence to neutralize the threat. Sweating in training and checking saves lives. Occurrences remain as incidents without turning into deadly accidents.
