Festive Brass of Myrtle Beach playing our final concert in Paris before heading home. Music truly is a universal language. Proud to have taken Lou’s trombone on such a grand journey.

the other (more decibel rich) side of my curriculum.
💥 No Belgian band influenced the last 30 years of my musical live-experience more than FIFTY FOOT COMBO. This year, the band and their Monstrophonic Sound will be burning rubber for 30 years now. In celebration of that there's MONSTROPALOOZA in Gent on 23rd March, where they selected a fine line-up of relevant bands with whom they'll be sharing the stage in the two big venues of VIERNULVIER/Vooruit. There will be great music, new 12 and 7" vinyl of FFC, new merchandise and exclusive limited goodies. You're kindly invited to go.... 💀 #FiftyFootCombo #Monstropalooza #Gent #Music #Vinyl #garagepunk #surf

Inaugurating Harvard University's first woman of color as President was not just a momentous occasion; it was a humbling and inspiring experience that left an impression on me. Boston weather was acting up, rainy and unpredictable. I was not deterred, and as I said to the woman sitting next to me "rain in my Setswana culture is a blessing! Pula!" A few months ago, following Claudine Gay's appointment to the presidency, I had the opportunity to meet her at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Our conversation started with her genuine interest in my personal experiences at the GSD and quickly delved into the complexities of life as a doctoral student, juggling research, and the responsibilities of running a household, including raising teenagers and guiding my daughter through the challenging process of college applications. In that moment her status melted away, and it only occurred to me shortly afterwards that I had just had a one-on-one conversation with Harvard University's President Elect! As an immigrant on scholarship at Harvard University I've had first-hand experience of the transformative power of education and the paramount importance of embracing diversity. To me, diversity is about the lived experiences we bring to the decision-making rooms. It is about our capacity to empathize and not simply sympathize with a world that is more expansive than ourselves. It is our ability to step out of our comfort zones, to question our biases, and seek common ground. In today's interconnected world, how else can we solve society's most pressing problems when we are mere observers from a homogenous background? I firmly believe that President Gaye embodies the values of a progressive society where justice, empathy, and equality are of utmost importance. In celebration of President Gay, who reminds us that diversity is our greatest asset on the path to a better and more just world, Pula! May rain bless your reign! I know that through you Harvard University will be stronger in its pursuit of Truth. Veritas. #ClaudineGay #Harvard #InclusionMatters #HarvardExperience #DiversityInLeadership
