ECHO would like to introduce you to Scott Greear in this month's Employee Spotlight! Job title upon hire:  Sr. Field Engineer   Current job title: Sr. Technician   Years with Echo: This year it will be 8 years. I was hired 9/28/15   What do you love most about what you do?  Every day is different. I am not doing one certain task day in and day out. I could be creating drawings for a project one day and the next I could be in the field correcting customer problems. Another aspect that I like is the support team that I have and the encouragement to try new things. I am beginning to manage people and projects. I am struggling a little with that, but I like the challenge. It is all apart of growth not only with the company ,but also with me.   Hobbies outside of work? I love to cook and come up with new recipes. I have recently developed with new BBQ flavor combination.  The other is metal detecting for Civil War relics.

I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, watching sci-fi movies, and playing video games. 🖱 Do you have any unique hobbies? Even though I am not an IT expert, I have always enjoyed building computers and upgrading computer parts. My first time building a computer was in 2020, and I have built several since then. 🎤 If you could meet anyone—famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional—who would it be and why? I would like to meet the one and only Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias. He seems like a very genuine person with a lot of great funny stories to share. ⛱ Where is your favorite place to be? I enjoy spending time at the beach on South Padre Island, especially during sunrise or sunset. It’s like a home away from home. 💡 What would most people be most surprised to learn about you? I have an extensive background in welding (ironworks). I first started welding when I was 16 and was certified under the American Welding Society. 📚 What is your favorite/most rewarding thing about your job? I enjoy growing as an individual and being able to help others interested in the field. I enjoy that there are so many learning opportunities.
