Part of transforming our business is beautifying our facilities. We held a mural contest at our Michigan City facility and Jon Heins, our Senior Designer in the Global New Product Development team, came up with the winning submission. His design blends our beautiful Michigan City lakefront with our Hitachi roots in Japan. The sun rises on a new era of innovation at Hitachi Global Air Power.

It’s been a week since we unveiled our hyperloop passenger pod at our rollout event. As the world’s first passenger module with an integrated interior concept it offers a glimpse into what traveling in a hyperloop will look and feel like, in true TUM Hyperloop style. Check out the full video on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eAPJf9Ry Hint: Watch this video with the sound on for maximum impact😉 #tumhyperloop #hyperloop #tumunich #hightech #innovation #technology #mobility #future #science #engineering #future

Wondering what the future holds for automotive design? Look no further than SPACE D! 🚀 At this year's International Leadership Summit, Wolfgang Thomale, Head of Surface Solutions, explains that SPACE D shows the impact that tomorrow's trends, such as 100% e-mobility and fully autonomous driving, will have on automotive interiors. SPACE D demonstrates the expertise of Surface Solutions in terms of design, functionality and sustainability. Thomale points out that in a possible future of mobility, the best of two worlds will merge - the automotive interior will merge with the domestic interior. He says that SPACE D provides a blueprint for what this future could look like. In Surface Solutions, the experts for both areas - living technology and automotive interior - work closely together and are mutually beneficial, he sums up. Discover how SPACE D embodies Continental Surface Solutions' commitment to design, functionality, and sustainability in our latest video: https://lnkd.in/eU4Qj_-f #SPACED #InteriorDesign #FutureMobility #SurfaceSolutions

https://lnkd.in/e9FdmhfU Recently, I asked you a question: how do you weave the root causes of microplastics into the multidimensional system transitions? Benjamin Beckley was curious how. Here is the answer and what I came up with so far. Tell me if you have more... 2 root causes of microplastics: - 1 - washing synthetic clothes is a big stream - 2 - wear of car tires For solutions, you can always go several ways. You can transition the materials to biocircularity. But that won't happen soon enough and would take many participants. Also, biocircularity works with being strong during lifespan and changing the environment after lifespan so it degrades. Difficult process if you are during lifespan already on wet roads and water washing... So, what else? The key is interconnection. We can change the infrastructure... 1. washing synthetic clothes can close the system with a filter close to the source. Or we can wash without water. Sonic waves. Those washing machines exist. 2. car tires can work together with the roads. Roads can clean the water while infiltrating. And use the microplastics to become regenerative and self-repairing Lately, I'm thinking about a low voltage. Nature does that, and we restore corals that way in science. Structures with low voltage attract the corals to grow faster. Microplastics are a problem in the air too. So, will a low voltage attract them to the roads and clean the air? What do you think? Picture: Studio Roosegaarde and the #biomimicry cycle path in my Van Gogh village Nuenen. They included light in the road. Why not make super multifunctional roads? Solar roads so cars don't need batteries anymore... Comments are very welcome... There's always more to know and explore... #innovation #roads #ESG #sustainability #regeneration #mobility #fashion #transitions

Do you agree? The problems we are facing globally are created mostly because of our narrow-mindedness and inability to analyze complex problems. In most cases, by trying to solve problems with narrow-mindedness, we create more problems. The first task to yourself while facing to solve any problem is not to make it worse. If you can not make it worse, don't do anything. Don't you think?
