You might have heard that your morning coffee or afternoon tea is a one-way ticket to dehydration. But is this really true? This idea is mostly FICTION. Caffeine does have a diuretic effect, meaning it increases urine production, which can lead to dehydration if fluids aren’t replaced. However, coffee and tea are mostly water, which balances out this effect when consumed in typical amounts. The real risk of dehydration comes with using caffeine supplements or drinking excessive amounts of coffee throughout the day. The bottom line: there’s no need to give up your morning cup of coffee if hydration is a concern. Instead, focus on adding more caffeine-free fluids throughout the day to stay well-hydrated. Stay tuned for more myth-busting facts and tips on staying hydrated. And don’t worry, your favourite caffeinated beverage can still be part of your hydration plan! 💧☕ Join the conversation with #HydrationMyths #StayHydrated #HealthFacts and let us know your thoughts! #Hydration #Health #Wellness #Caffeine #CoffeeLovers #TeaTime

With the warm weather here, it is important to stay properly hydrated. While it may be tempting to opt for sugary beverages when quenching your thirst, it's crucial to remember that they can significantly contribute to tooth decay. Even sugar-free fizzy drinks can cause tooth erosion due to their acidity. For a bright and healthy smile, it's best to stick with plain water and milk! 💧🥛 #OralHealth #Hydration #HealthySmile

"Choosing the right drinks to keep yourself safe in a heat wave" To protect yourself from the current heat wave, consuming drinks that keep your body hydrated is important. Poor beverage choices often cause dehydration and a lack of minerals and vitamins. To stay healthy, avoid drinks high in calories and low in nutrients. Instead, choose drinks rich in minerals and vitamins that help your body stay hydrated and function properly. Smart beverage choices can make a big difference, and help you stay hydrated in the hot summer months, rather than harming your body. Does your morning look like this? 1/ Wake up and #hydrate: start your day with a glass of #water to rehydrate your body after a night's sleep. 2/ Morning #green #tea: after hydrating, have your first cup of green tea. This can help kickstart your metabolism and provide a gentle caffeine boost to enhance your alertness and focus. Tip: Brew your green tea at a lower temperature (70-80°C) to avoid bitterness and preserve its beneficial compounds 3/ Breakfast: have a balanced breakfast rich in protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates. Avoid drinking green tea immediatelly with your meal to ensure better #iron absorption from food.

#100hardthings - Day 58 - Was a focus on nutrients and calories. I plan to do this over the next several days/weeks. My goal is to do a slight calorie deficit, but the larger goal is to get the proper nutrients through the foods I do eat. It's a lot easier to eat healthy and to loose weight if you track nutrients. As you can see, I was a bit high on Caffeine. Actually this is probably not true... and I need to set the metrics appropriately. This is from coffee.. not Monster drinks.

Tips to get through suhoor Tip 1: Drink your water 5-10 minutes before you eat your meal. Why? If you drink large amount of water post your meal, the food from stomach lining gets separated and stomach acid get diluted. You can have 3-4 sips of water post your food but do not gulp down large amount of water. Tip 2: Avoid salty, oily and spicy food to prevent indigestion, bloating and discomfort during your fast. Tip 3: avoid drinking too much tea or coffee. Caffeine cause dehydration Tip 4: Include meals rich in protein and fibre. It keeps your satiety high and does not let hunger bother you much. Tip 5: As much as you would love to rest, make sure your body moves. It’s important for you to be active. A 20-30 min walk or workout is just perfect. #ramdanhealthtips #ramadanhealthy #ramadanactivelife #ramzanfitness
