𝚆𝙸𝙻𝙻 𝙸 𝙽𝙴𝙴𝙳 𝙲𝙰𝙼𝙴𝚁𝙰𝚂 𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚁𝚈𝚆𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴?
We get this question a lot from families when they start thinking about hiring a caregiver.
It stems from FEAR and a lack of TRUST in doing something new.
Putting the care of your aging parent, or your child, in the hands of someone you’ve hired – a STRANGER – is a big step.
We’ve had a caregiving team in our home for over 25 years.
Team members have come and gone, because that’s just how it goes.
But do I worry that something “BAD” could happen, especially when we’re not there? Definitely not.
I know everyone can have a bad day. And everyone comes with some baggage.
The key to making all this work is building TRUST … which takes time.
So do you need cameras everywhere to make sure your caregiver is doing their job?
It kinda depends but really, the short answer is NO, you don’t!
"𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘔𝘪𝘬𝘦, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰?"
Here are a few ways:
𝟙 – Do thorough REFERENCE checks before you hire. You should get 4! Ask me why :)
𝟚 – Observe your family member’s REACTION when your caregiver is around.
𝟛 – Look for sincerity and AUTHENTICITY in the words you caregiver uses and how they interact.
𝟜 – CHECK IN frequently with your caregiver. This is a biggie and the key to managing (and growing) any relationship.
Hiring a paid caregiver is THE MOST IMPORTANT hire you’ll ever do.
That means you need to have the RIGHT home environment so they can keep bringing their BEST every day.
That’s what we do at SOARING FAMILIES.
That’s how we do home care DIFFERENTLY.
If you’re looking to hire someone, let us show you the NEW way to do that!
