Excited to share my recent interview with Forbes India! In this conversation, I highlight the value of innovations being built in India for both local and global impact. We discussed GE HealthCare’s mission to advance care globally and enhance access to diagnostics, and the pivotal role of our Bangalore R&D Center in our AI and digital strategy. We also covered our collaborations with leading academic institutions in India and our future investments focusing on AI-powered tools and automation. Our commitment to democratizing access to care was also a key topic. #AI is a powerful tool that can help bridge gaps in care delivery and improve population health.  

As someone who has worked closely with GE HealthCare Bangalore team Ravi Bhardwaj Annamraju Ramesh Venkatesan and Amit S Phadnis (then GEHC) as part of the Edison Accelerator program, I am truly hopeful. When we solve for India, not only do we solve for 20% of the world but also create transferable solutions for the rest of the world including developed economies that are battling not only the increasing costs of healthcare but also inequities in access, affordability and the role of power in patient-physician relationships. George L. recently shared a link to an article about the patient-physician relationship that is still on my mind. In addition, we need to consider the power of the markets to shape the trajectory of product development and be more inclusive in our innovation. Nowhere else is this more important and vital than in AI powered solutions. Which is why we developed Neuroshield, the first AI brain volumetry solution that addresses ethnicity specificity for neurodegenerative disorder care pathways.

McKinsey & Company shares why #generativeai has the potential to unlock the $1 Trillion of improvement potential in the healthcare industry. This makes me very excited. It is no secret that healthcare has historically been the slowest industry to adopt modern technology and is almost always a few decades behind. While the reasons have merit and there is a lot of complexity in why this is the case - the COVID-19 pandemic changed this, and for the better.
