What makes a great coordinator/project manger? Someone who can seamlessly bridge the gap between field hands, company men, clients and the office In today's fast-paced world, it takes more than just intelligence (IQ) to succeed in these roles. Emotional intelligence (EQ) plays a pivotal role in understanding and connecting with individuals on a deeper level. Coordinators and Project Managers must possess this unique ability to adapt their communication style, catering to the needs of each individual and understanding their personal motivations. Think of it this way: each field hand is like a younger brother or sister, and as a Coordinator or Project Manager, you have the incredible opportunity to be their supportive mentor. In this role, you become 80% therapist, 10% boss, and 10% technical support. By truly listening and learning about their "why" and what motivates them, you can unlock their full potential, empowering them to excel. But remember, all great coordinators were once great field hands, not all great field hands make great coordinators or project managers. It takes a special breed of individual to excel in these roles. People skills are paramount, and a strong cultural fit is essential. If you want to foster a vibrant and thriving culture within your organization, hiring a stellar project manager is the key. A great project manager is like a quarterback, orchestrating and supporting the entire team. They effortlessly put players in the right positions and execute flawlessly. With a great coordinator by your side, you'll never have to micromanage again. They take charge, ensuring every aspect of the project is running smoothly, allowing you as the operations manager to focus on calling the shots with confidence and ease. Remember, it's all about the people, the culture, and the power of emotional intelligence! #ProjectManagement #Coordination #EmotionalIntelligence #Leadership #Teamwork #taktikal #Directional

Is your project management team incomplete? Unfilled positions can have a significant negative impact on your business. Here are just a few of the disadvantages: ✅ Decreased Productivity: When key roles are vacant, the workload falls on existing team members, leading to burnout and decreased efficiency. ✅ Missed Deadlines and Delays: Without a full team, projects are more likely to be delayed, impacting your ability to meet deadlines and deliver results on time. ✅ Higher Costs: The longer a position remains unfilled, the more it costs your business in lost productivity, recruitment efforts, and potential missed opportunities. ✅ Reduced Morale: A team with missing members can experience lower morale and motivation, further hindering productivity and overall performance. What are hybrid roles? When you see positions like Project Manager/Account Manager, they are considered hybrid role. 👎The disagreement: There are some who will read this as a red flag because they felt that these are almost oppositional roles and cannot be combined. To them, it's almost like marking your own homework if you are the Account Manager for a client who you are also delivering projects for. 👍The agreement: For some others, this hybrid role works absolutely for them. Who better than the PM to represent the company to the client? Who better to answer questions and provide status than the person responsible for delivering? Who better to catch and manage scope creep, or to flag opportunities for follow on work? ✌️My personal view: For me, I have worked in places with Account Management cum Program Management function under my responsibility and it ended up working for me. I have also done in other places as only Account Manager and has to depend on the Program Manager to feed me with updates so that I could update my customers, and that can be painful at times. I have also worked on the Program Manager function and feeding updates to the Account Manager and waiting for him/her convince the customer, which was equally painful. Having combining both roles into one, I was able to streamlined the communication process and got things done and moving faster. 👉Your opinion: What do you think? Can these roles be performed by the same person? Or is this a cost cutting exercise/indicative of an immature or poorly structured org? #ccpn #accountmanagement #programmanagement #hybridroles #hybridrole #organization #salesmanagement

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 & 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 | Build a Learning Culture with focus on Continuous Improvements, Change Management, People, Benefits, Risk and Investment
UPDATED....Thank you, goodbye, and what next? --Please Connect, Reach Out, Share or Like this post-- I am searching for a new role in Project Management, as Senior Project Manager, Program or Project Director, depending on the complexity. Do you know companies or people that you could be interested, please reach out to me. I have experience from different industries and project management roles in Wind, PtX, Medical devices, Defence, Communication, Bid management and Software business areas. What now, and what next? Hopefully this post will help and guide me to new companies and opportunities that will result in coffee appointments and conversations about: - Project, Program and Portfolio Management - Leadership, Project and Culture - Business and Project Value Chain - Output and Outcomes - Risk, Investments focus and consequences - Benefits and Business Focus in projects. - The long-time goal is to find a new company and role, where I can help with delivering profitable output and outcomes projects or programs, and execute strategic initiatives. Also it would be great if my next company had an interest in building a strong project learning culture. - The short-time goal could be assisting with Project Turnarounds. In my toolbox is the capability to step in, and help with projects, that for different reasons is not heading in the right direction. This could maybe lead to a more permanent engagement. Goodby to DIS/CREADIS It is time to say goodbye, the project-well is empty, and with that the reason for my exit from DIS/CREADIS. I have been very lucky to be a part of a company, where we share the same set of values, flexibility, enthusiasm, professionalism, community and openness. Hopefully I will find a new company that shares the same values. A big thank you to DIS/CREADIS and my fantastic colleagues. A special thanks to the ones that have sent me messages or in person said goodbye. Your messages are heartwarming. Thank you DIS for the opportunity you gave me to lead projects, with high complexity and for the role in the Project Excellence journey.
