It was a privilege to guest lecture alongside Aaron Dante at Towson University, at two podcasting classes recently. The future hosts had great questions about our distinct approaches—interview versus solo and scripted formats. A highlight for me was hearing their show pitches, which spanned diverse topics like sports, relationships, food, music, and travel. It gave me insights into where their minds are at... We emphasized two key lessons for sustainable success in podcasting (or any entrepreneurial venture): Firstly, choose a topic that you're passionate enough about to discuss for years—this is crucial for longevity. Secondly, embrace action over hesitation; the best way to start is to just hit 'record'!

I had a great time being a guest speaker at Towson University’s Podcast class for the second year in a row! This year, I had the pleasure of bringing along fellow podcaster and marketing guru Sonja Thorsvik from Gigging For Gold Podcast to share her experience of creating a podcast with no guest. Thank you to Dr. Elias Powers Associate Professor of Towson University Mass Communication for inviting me to speak with the class and for the opportunity to hear the student's ideas for podcasts they would like to create. I volunteered to have their shows recorded live at the NoPixAfterDark studio. Excited to be invited back next semester to guest speaker for the opening and closing of the semester! Go Tigers! 🐯

The average tenure of presidents serving at one institution has sharply declined from 10 years to a shocking 3.7 years. This is partly because funding issues are mounting and will likely worsen, forcing presidents to make massive cuts to programs, which negatively impacts faculty morale. To fully grasp the situation, higher ed leaders need to learn the entire scope of the situation. We discuss the startling trend at length in our 169th podcast episode. 👉 https://bit.ly/che-169 #HigherEducation #ChangingHigherEd #TheChangeLeader
