In a strategic move aimed at advancing their antitrust case against US Soccer, the North American Soccer League's (NASL) attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, has once again petitioned the judge for action on pending summary judgment and other motions. With the trial set to commence on September 9, the NASL's latest legal push signals a growing determination to challenge the status quo in American soccer. Kessler's reputation as a formidable legal mind is well-established, making his involvement in the case a cause for concern for US Soccer and Major League Soccer (MLS) officials. Renowned for his prowess in dismantling legal barriers, Kessler poses a significant threat to the entrenched structures that have hindered the growth of the sport in the United States. As the legal battle unfolds, the outcome could have far-reaching implications for the future of soccer in the United States, potentially paving the way for a more equitable and competitive landscape. With Kessler at the helm, the NASL's pursuit of justice promises to be a formidable challenge to the entrenched powers within the current establishment.
