Earth Hour is happening tonight! The annual event encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time, usually on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet. This year, instead of merely turning off your nonessential lights for an hour, we’re challenging you to give an hour to Earth by doing something positive for the environment. Here are a few ways you can give an hour for Earth: - Take part in an outdoor excursion - Donate to protect nature - Explore your local outdoor space - Participate in a nature cleanup - Create arts and crafts from recycled or discarded plastic - Visit an exhibit or museum focused on the environment - Start a compost - Create a zero-waste meal - Meditate with nature - Grow a plant or create a garden Learn how you can give an hour for Earth and make a lasting impact at earthhour.org.

This International Day of Action for Rivers, let's take a look at how the @TerraCycleGlobalFoundation is protecting rivers and preventing ocean pollution at the same time. By partnering with local communities to build, adapt, and maintain river trash capture technology, the Foundation pulls 16,500 pounds of waste from rivers and waterways each week—before it can flow into our oceans. 🌊 In 2023, the Foundation committed to going even further by making a Clinton Global Initiative “Commitment to Action” (CTA) to launch a material recovery center for waste management in Southeast Asia. How can you take action for rivers today? Start by supporting the Foundation’s mission. Learn more and donate: https://lnkd.in/exxXWzpF

The road to Zero Waste is long, but our small, mighty crew has already made strides across the United States – in just one year. Wanting to build a more just and sustainable future through community-centered Zero Waste solutions, we set on a path to educate people about real Zero Waste policies, design those policies through good laws and regulations, and advocate for real solutions alongside other groups and coalitions. All of us at Just Zero are grateful to be able to do this work. Because, if this year has shown us anything, it’s that we urgently need to make progress on implementing real solutions to our climate-damaging, toxic, and inequitable production, consumption, and waste-disposal practices. Learn about Just Zero's progress in year one – and where we plan to go next – in our 2022-2023 Annual Report:

Today, on World Environment Day, we join the global community in focusing on the need for land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing drought resilience. This year's theme emphasizes restoring our planet’s ecosystems, a mission that Exela supports through our sustainable practices. Here are a few things we do to help: - Transition from paper to digital formats to conserve water and protect forests, essential for maintaining land health. - Use condensate water in our Exela facilities’ cooling systems to reduce reliance on municipal water supplies, supporting critical water conservation efforts. - Repurpose or recycle all outdated equipment and prioritize the use of recycled paper to minimize waste and enhance land restoration efforts. Let's reflect on how each action we take can restore and protect our planet. Join us in our ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable and resilient world.
