Brands that reach the LGBTQ+ community are not only reaching one individual but also their networks who care about what companies are doing to help them. The LGBTQ+ in America session covered how brands can be allies by ending performative activism and stopping the rainbow-washing of their brands. #QuirksEvent #MRX #QuirksNewYork

As we continue through June, our feeds are filled with rainbow logos and "Love Is Love" messages. But many in the LGBTQ+ community are questioning the authenticity of this support. "Rainbow capitalism" and "pinkwashing" often overshadow genuine efforts for equality. The real question is: How can brands authentically support LGBTQ+ communities? Consumers today want actions, not just symbols. So, if you're a well-meaning brand, consider these steps: 🌈 Support queer and trans creators. 🌈Establish forward-thinking policies for LGBTQ+ employees. 🌈Integrate LGBTQ+ advocacy with other social justice efforts. 🌈Invest in year-round contributions to LGBTQ+ causes. Retire the rainbow logo and let your actions represent your true allyship through consistent, meaningful actions. ✨ With Peter Gandolfo, MBA, Executive Coach (PCC) #PrideMonth #LGBTQSupport #AuthenticAllyship #ExecutiveCoach #InclusionMatters

In a world where inclusivity, equity, and belonging should be the cornerstones of our society, the journey towards achieving these ideals can be as enlightening as it is challenging. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a keynote speaker panel with Kelley Robinson that delved deep into the critical aspects of LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion, an endeavor that is shaping the very fabric of our world. Through conversation, Lisette Arsuaga and Kelley Robinson, covered the importance of encapsulating community and security under the umbrella of intersectionality, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. As discussed, it is clear that recognizing intersections of identities helps us address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals of color, transgender individuals, and those from marginalized communities. By embracing the principles of security, solidarity, and intersectionality, we can forge a path toward a more equitable and inclusive society, where LGBTQ+ rights are not just protected but celebrated as an integral part of our shared human experience. Thank you to Kelley Robinson, the president of Human Rights Campaign, for sharing the valuable insights and recommendations during the keynote speaker panel at the 2023 July Member Forum. #SeeALL **AIMM Members can rewatch the full session on the AIMM Hub or by signing into the event portal**

Less than 2 weeks until Manchester Pride! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍 Pride events are about human rights, empowering LGBTQ+ individuals to reclaim the rights and freedoms they are denied, and the public space they often feel excluded from. To be an LGBT ally is easy. If you agree in equality and fair treatment in society of people who identify as LGBTQ+ then already you are an ally. Additional steps you can take; 1. Talk Openly Read up on LGBTQI+ issues and debates, laws, rights, celebrations 2. Familiarize yourself with the language Teach yourself the right language to use when talking with LGBTQ+ people 3. Educate yourself on the history of LGBTQ+ activism It’s important to appreciate how far we have come in the struggle for equality but also to fully understand how far we have left to go 4. Get involved in the community and show your support Your presence at events is a significant show of solidarity and support to let the LGBTQ+ community know that you stand with them 5. Stand up for what you believe in Sometimes standing up against discrimination can be an intimidating experience but the important thing is to let your voice be heard. Although it’s not always easy, these are situations where being an ally really counts At Hilti we have the LGBTQ+ OwnIt group, who work to ensure that we are constantly a diverse and inclusive workplace for everyone in the community. If you would like to be involved or want anymore information please reach out to myself or the team lead Robin Turley. It's World Pride Month....and sorry adding a rainbow to your product is not Allyship - it's marketing. While it's wonderful to see rainbows everywhere, it's important to remember that true allyship goes beyond adding a rainbow to your product or website. Allyship means: ❤️ Listening and Learning: Taking the time to understand the experiences and challenges of the LGBTQ+ community. 💜 Supporting and Empowering: Amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, supporting LGBTQ+ businesses, and advocating for equal rights. 💙 Creating Inclusive Environments: Ensuring your workplace and products are genuinely inclusive and safe for everyone, not just during Pride Month but all year round. 💛 Taking Action: Donating to LGBTQ+ causes, participating in events, and pushing for policies that support the community. Adding a rainbow to your product can be a symbol of support, but without meaningful action, it risks being seen as just another marketing tactic. Let's make this World Pride Month not just about visible support, but about real, impactful allyship. Together, we can make a difference. #worlpridemonth #LGBTQplusallyship #inclusiveworkplace #realsupport

Happy Pride Month! As we celebrate, let's reflect on some impactful statistics and historical milestones that highlight the journey toward equality and acceptance: 🌈The first Pride parade took place on June 28, 1970, in New York City, marking the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. 🌈 In 2023, an estimated 5 million people attended NYC Pride, one of the largest Pride events in the world. 🌈 As of 2023, over 1,500 Pride events are held globally each year, demonstrating the widespread impact and support for LGBTQ+ rights. 🌈 According to Gallup, the percentage of U.S. adults identifying as LGBTQ+ rose to 7.1% in 2022, up from 5.6% in 2020, indicating increased visibility and acceptance. 🌈 The Trevor Project's 2023 National Survey reported that LGBTQ+ youth who found their school to be LGBTQ-affirming had significantly lower rates of attempting suicide. 🌈As of 2023, 22 countries have legalized same-sex marriage, showcasing global strides towards equality. Let's celebrate these milestones and continue advocating for a more inclusive and supportive world for everyone. Keep glowing and fighting for your rights! #Pride2024 #LGBTQ+ #Equality #Inclusion #Diversity #Support #CelebrateAndGlow #LoveIsLove #GlobalMovement #Stonewall #LGBTQMentalHealth

To my fellow social media managers: Pride month has started, and I want to encourage you all to approach this time with authenticity and purpose, not just profit. Far too often, brands treat Pride as a mere marketing opportunity, slapping rainbows on our logos and pushing product sales without truly supporting the LGBTQ+ community. This is not only hurtful to the queer community but can actively damage trust and credibility. Instead, I challenge us to use our platforms to amplify LGBTQ+ voices, highlight essential causes, and show up as true allies - not just during June but year-round. Donate portions of profits to LGBTQ+ organisations, collaborate with queer creators, and use your reach to educate and inspire. Pride is about celebrating hard-won rights and uplifting marginalised identities. Let's not reduce it to a corporate cash grab. #PrideMonth #LGBTQMarketing #SocialMediaManager #AuthenticBranding #CorporateAllyship ( this is an AI generated image🙈)

Pride Month is a time to come together and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. We all have a responsibility to support each other and show solidarity with those who are marginalized. We can take action to show our support for LGBTQ+ rights and create a more inclusive world. Here are a few ways to get involved: 🧡Educate yourself about LGBTQ+ issues: Research the community's history, challenges, and successes. 💛Speak up: Speak up for the LGBTQ+ community and stand up for their rights when you see discrimination or inequality. 💚Support LGBTQ+ organisations: Donate to charities and organisations that support the LGBTQ+ community. 💙Be an ally: Use your privilege to support the LGBTQ+ community, and listen to their stories and experiences. 💜Celebrate Pride: Share your support on social media, attend an event, and celebrate the progress that has been made in the fight for equality. Let's come together and show our support for Pride Month! Our Pride Month 2024 booklet highlights the history and importance of Pride, celebrates LGBTQ+ tech pioneers and current influencers, and offers resources to learn about LGBTQ+ history and culture and the changes needed for equality.
