Source: Harvard Business Review From the article: "With governments and international blocs in retreat, where can LGBTQ+ employees turn to for support? The not-so-obvious answer is global companies. Looking back on what has driven dramatic gains in the life prospects of LGBTQ+ people over the last 20 years, legislative action and culture shifts have been important, but center stage have been multinational corporations." #LGBT #LGBTQ #Employment, #Employees #Employers #Companies #Business #Pride

🌈 This week at Free-Equal, we're highlighting the importance of LGBTQ+ rights in the workplace. The recent landmark case from #inadi involving a Sanofi subsidiary in Latin America, remind us of the ongoing struggles faced by #lgbtq individuals in corporate environments. 💡 What Can Companies Do? 1. Review Policies: Regularly update non-discrimination policies to reflect current legal standards and societal norms. 2. Train Staff: Implement comprehensive training programs to educate employees about LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion. 3. Support Systems: Establish support groups or networks for LGBTQ+ employees. 4. Enforce Strictly: Ensure that anti-discrimination policies are enforced rigorously and that violations are addressed promptly and effectively. Together, we can create a world where diversity is celebrated, and every individual is treated with dignity and respect. 🌏❤️ #FreeEqual #PorMatteo #DiversityInclusion #SafeWorkplace

Sharing this recent article about the state of corporate LGBTQ programs by HBR. The results of supporting LGBTQ+ employees include increased retention and attraction, especially for younger generations of workers. Studies report that 21-25% of Gen Z identify as LGBTQ+, and they are very interested in workplaces that provide education, support and benefits that support them. I was pleased to read that "The Conference Board CHRO Confidence Index recently reported that no HR leaders are planning on scaling back investments in DEI in 2024; and a Littler Study found that 99% of CEOs were either expanding or maintaining their diversity commitments, with only 1% indicating a scale back." If you are looking for ways to create a more LGBTQ+ welcoming and supportive workplace, Out and Equal is a great non -profit organization I've worked with in the past: https://lnkd.in/g-i7Hnzv https://lnkd.in/g7_tDhCM #PRIDE #coaching #leadership #business #HR

When it comes LGBTQ+ allyship, the data paints a clear picture. Consumers expect business leaders to step up, mean what they say, and fight for the lives and livelihoods of LGBTQ+ people. "The rising tide of support for LGBTQ rights (eight in 10 Americans support nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people), coupled with changing expectations of what corporate citizenship means, translates into an expectation that corporations will live out their stated allyship to the LGBTQ community." To help businesses — of all shapes, sizes, and disciplines — close the gap between authentic allyship and surface-level solidarity, the Human Rights Campaign has launched its inaugural corporate citizenship report, "The LGBTQ+ Corporate Citizen: A Framework for Emerging Best Practices in Allyship." It's a first-of-its-kind report that goes beyond foundational workplace inclusion, urging companies to examine their operations, policies, and practices through an action-focused lens. Good morning and happy Monday! Today I am happy to share this article published on Harvard Business Review . Things aren't great for the LGBTIQ+ communities right now and we need support and real allies. Global companies must recommit to the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, not only because morally is the right thing to do, but also because it's good for business! Learn here why companies must recommit to the fight for LGBTQ+ rights: 1. When LGBTQ+ employees feel comfortable being “out” at work, engagement and retention rates are much higher. 2. Gen Z is the future workforce and a significant proportion (25%) identify as LGBTQ+. This group is actively seeking to work for companies that are queer friendly. 3. Workplace equity and inclusion policies benefit ALL employees. Click here, read the article and learn more! #Diversity #Inclusion #Pride #PrideMonth #LGBTQ https://cogniz.at/4c3dnIC

Let’s break down barriers and foster workplaces where everyone feels valued and respected. Together, we can build safe work environments for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or identity. Happy Pride Month! 🌈 Today marks the start of a month long celebration of LGBTQ+ identities, history, and achievements. You might notice companies updating their logos with rainbow colors (PG does not have a pride logo) to show support. In this video, we explore a critical issue many LGBTQ+ job seekers face: being told they're not a "cultural fit." We discuss how this affects the LGBTQ+ community and what true inclusivity should entail. Let's make sure our support is more than just a logo change—it's a commitment to real change. Check out the video below to learn more about how we can move from symbolic support to substantial action. #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #Inclusion #Diversity #CulturalFit #Belonging #LGBTQIA2S #InclusiveCulture #InclusiveWorkplace
