To help you find and support 💥HYPERLOCAL💥 black-owned businesses here in Charlotte, AND all over the US, we pulled together a context “cheat sheet’ outlining who these companies are and why you should buy from them. National Black Business Month was established in 2004 by entrepreneurs Frederick Jordan and John William Templeton. Its purpose is to drive growth beyond traditional customers, and push the participation of community leaders, local politicians and venture capitalists. Black business owners account for only 10% of U.S. business and around 30% of all minority-owned businesses. Take a moment this month (and beyond) to learn more about what sets them apart. They (and you) will be glad you did. #blackownedbusinesses #shoplocal #hyperlocal

The Cannon Community is 🚀 Empowering Youth Through Entrepreneurship 🌟 What to Expect: Witness the magic as participants pitch their one-of-a-kind lemonade stand business ideas, vying for the coveted 1st Place in Lemonade Day Houston's Best of the Zest Contest. A panel of expert judges, soon to be announced, will provide valuable feedback, fostering growth and learning. Why is this important? Entrepreneurship plays in shaping the future of our communities, especially among the youth. 💡 Entrepreneurial Mindset: Exposure to a thriving ecosystem is the catalyst for cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth. It's more than just a career path; it's a way of thinking. The ability to think creatively, embrace risk, and take initiative becomes second nature. 🚀 Innovation and Problem-Solving: Thriving ecosystems encourage youth to think beyond conventional boundaries. They become problem-solvers, and innovators who look at challenges not as roadblocks but as opportunities to create meaningful change. 🌐 Cultural Change: As our youth embraces the entrepreneurial culture, a significant cultural shift unfolds. Attitudes toward risk-taking, innovation, and entrepreneurship undergo transformation, not only impacting the business landscape but society at large. We’re opening it up for all. Starting now. To kick off our new Guava Community platform membership, called Huddle by Guava, we’ve teamed up with Kristian Edwards, DrPH, CEO and Founder of BLK + GRN, for a webinar to give you her secrets to how she built a thriving online business. 👇🏿 Sign up using the link in the comments, and we’ll send you the info on how to set up your FREE Huddle Membership to join the webinar.
