Revent Reflections: What is preventing preventive healthcare to take off? At Revent we looking at the big systemic problems that need to be addressed to hand over a healthy planet and society for the next generations to come. One key element is to move from a reactive to a preventive healthcare system. This will be a key building block to keep people longer healthier and increase not only their lifetime but meaningfully their quality of life especially in the last years. However, at the moment the average EU country spends 3% of the healthcare budget on preventive health. This will need to increase meaningfully to actually reduce costs for the healthcare system and keep people healthier longer . Our colleague Sharon Chen looked deeper into the market on what is preventing the prevention and how entrepreneurs and technologies can support this system critical change to a more preventive healthcare system. This is the reality of dialysis. If you don't know, dialysis is a way of replacing some of the functions of your kidney, if your kidneys have failed, by using a machine to filter and clean your blood.
