Nurses are a cornerstone of health care - providing high-quality, compassionate care every day. During National Nurses Week, and every week, please remember the importance of extending kindness to nurses and all health care workers. Workplace violence in health care is on the rise, but together we can help reverse this alarming trend. Health care workers commit to do no harm to others ; please make that same commitment to them.

Could General Practice Nurses soon be included within the additional roles reimbursement scheme? Following industry pressure, practices may soon be able to use ARRS funding to pay for GPNs and mental health practitioners. With this move, practices will have more flexibility in how they utilise their ARRS funding, allowing them to take more pressure off GPs and address critical workforce pressures. But putting this into practice means directing patients to the right care, first time – regardless of whether they need to see a GP, a general practice nurse, or if they just need their prescription refilled. Through structured triage and streamlined patient flow management, we’re helping practices to do exactly that. Find out how we can support your practice ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/d7MgPrm #primarycare #NHS #triage #healthtech #digitalhealth #Klinik

Good afternoon! In one of our recent newsletter releases, some stories that caught my attention are outlined below. In particular, with our population getting older by the day, I imagine that nursing for seniors especially Alzheimer's patients will become a bigger and bigger challenge. 1. A study published in the Health Policy Journal analyzing nurses' responses on issues like workload, job satisfaction, and intention to leave, found that a 10% increase in nurses' intent to quit led to a 14% rise in patient mortality. (OR Manager) 2. Georgia is projected to have the nation’s second-largest shortage of registered nurses by 2035. Despite legislative efforts, the shortage persists, impacting both urban and rural areas. (AJC) 3. The prevalence of dementia is rising alongside a massive workforce shortage in the healthcare industry, with the Alzheimer's Association projecting a shortage of 1 million direct care workers by 2031. The lifetime cost of dementia care is estimated to be nearly $400,000, primarily covered by family caregivers. Interesting article. DCB0160 places an obligation on healthcare organisations to plan for the implementation of healthcare IT systems, using the DCB0129 assesment that should have been produced by the manufacturer. Part of the Clinical Safety Case File for both requirements should be an assesment by clinicians (CSOs) as to the risks and how the control measures. For organisations this includes continually reviewing the risks and control measures during the implementation stage, continual review throughout the product lifespan, and review during decommissioning. The requirement is already there. How many organisations are compliant is another matter.

Let’s do this…let’s normalize the term #telenursing We see #telehealth, #telemedicine, but guess what? LinkedIn doesn’t have a hashtag for #telenursing. Let’s call it what it is, when it’s being used. Telenursing is real, telenursing is evidence-based…telenursing is NOW. 👉So many articles start like this: “What nurses need to know about telehealth.” 🎙️Let’s flip the script!! “What healthcare should know about #telenursing 👏👏 (and LinkedIn…add #telenursing to your #️⃣) Rebecca Love RN, MSN, FIEL Geoffrey M.
