Porsche posts robust growth in first nine months of 2023 Roughly a year after our successful IPO at the end of last September, Porsche AG has again reported strong business figures for the third quarter of 2023. In the first nine months of the year, we increased both Group sales revenue and Group operating profit. Sales revenue rose by 12.6 percent to 30.13 billion euros. The operating profit rose by 9.0 percent to 5.50 billion euros. “While investing extensively in the brand and technology, we have simultaneously achieved a strong result and robust cash flow. We continue to benefit from high demand and positive product mix and price effects,” says Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Board Member for Finance and IT. “Across all model lines, our vehicles are in high demand worldwide. At the same time, exclusivity and individualization of our products are steadily increasing,” explains Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche AG. “We benefit from a robust positioning in key global regions. We have seen above-average growth in Europe, North America as well as in the ‘Overseas and Emerging Markets’ region,” Blume says. “Our business model is based on our unique positioning in the automotive industry. Bavaria, it’s been a long time since I saw U 🇩🇪, or few spontaneous thoughts after two intense days in beautiful Munich. 🔘 Germany seems to do utmost to defend its crown of World’s automotive champion. Once bitten by electric pioneers, Vorsprung Durch Technik nation seem to fully shift the geer to green transition 🔘 My beloved childhood brand Audi amazed by ability to personalise each and every car they produce. Thousands of cars come out of the line, and each single of them different. Audi’s factory experience truly lives “what can be digitised - will be digitised” slogan. A smooth synthesy between robotisation and human touch. Quality with no compromise 🔘 What cought my eye in IAA mobility fair, was magnitude of China’s electric car brands. Seeing so many brands from Asia, feels like Tesla and Europe is about to face fierce competition in price. No yet in designs, though, to be honest 😊 Looks like we brought back some sun and warm bavarian breeze. Let’s hope it stays above Baltic skies and economies.

In 2023, Porsche AG Group delivered. 💪 With sales revenue of €40.5 billion, operating profit of €7.3 billion and operating return on sales of 18 percent in the first year after our IPO, we delivered on our guidance and continued our profitable growth.   Of course, our shareholders will also benefit from our success. The Executive Board and Supervisory Board will propose to the Annual General Meeting a dividend payment of €2.1 billion for the past financial year – that's €2.30 per ordinary share and €2.31 per preference share.   Now, with these strong results behind us, we’re seizing the initiative anew. We’re doing this in three ways:   👉 Firstly, with our products: Our fascinating sports cars are the very heart of Porsche. With the new Panamera, all-electric Macan, Taycan and 911, 2024 marks the biggest model offensive in the history of our company. 👉 Secondly, with the positioning of our brand: Porsche is individual, exclusive and desirable. Our brand fascinates people all over the world and makes their dreams come true. 👉 Thirdly, with the transformation of our company: We’re making smart investment decisions in innovations, digitalization and sustainability. We’re also investing in the people who shape Porsche through their work every day.   All this will make for a very exciting year – and a challenging one, too. The model changeovers, for example, mean working hard to ramp down as well as ramp up the production of four of our products in two plants at the same time.   But even in challenging and volatile times, Porsche is financially robust. We’re supported by impressive figures, a loyal customer base and a very well-balanced sales structure. Based on our strong product substance and individualization, we’ll continue to benefit from our pricing potential. Porsche AG closed out a very successful 2023 financial year and is planning the biggest year of product launches in the company’s history in 2024. With four new launches in the Panamera, Macan, Taycan and 911 model lines, the sports car manufacturer will continue to pick up speed in 2025. “We have had a strong financial year,” says Chairman of the Executive Board Oliver Blume. “2024 is going to be a year of product launches for Porsche – more so than any year in our history. We will be introducing a variety of exhilarating sports cars to the road, they will delight our customers around the world. This will put the wind at our back for years to come.” Group sale revenue totaled 40.5 billion euros in 2023. This marks a 7.7 per cent increase (previous year: 37.6 billion euros). Group operating profit rose by 7.6 per cent to 7.3 billion euros (previous year: 6.8 billion euros). The Group operating return on sales remained stable at 18.0 per cent. The rivalry between BMW and Mercedes-Benz has been nothing short of inspirational, leading to groundbreaking advancements in the luxury car market. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has not only elevated their own brands, but has also set the bar higher for the entire industry. As a consumer of BMW, I'm grateful for the healthy competition between these two automotive giants, which has ultimately resulted in better products and experiences for all of us. In our household, my husband is a Benz fan and I am a BMW fan, but we both recognise that each car has unique offering and high quality. In some markets, competition is a dirty word. Usually these markets are filled with mediocre products and services, which are forced on people. If a company or individual wants to enter the market, they will face blocks usually in the form of not allowing them to get a license. Who does this benefit? The monopolies and certainly not consumers. Here's to embracing the power of competition and the innovation it brings.
