Treat your sales career like a pro athlete. Show up every day like it's game day. What does this all start with? Discipline. It's the key to your success in sales. Discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want now. It's the key to unlocking your full potential and achieving your dreams. Don't want to make those cold calls? Do it anyways. Don't want to go to that networking event? Do it anyways. Don't want to follow up when your deal goes dark? Do it anyways. Sales is about discipline. Focus on getting 1% better every day. Your systems will compound and make you great. But you need to attack every day like a pro athlete: 1. Clarify your long-term goals 2. Prioritize actions that align with those goals 3. Stay consistent, even when it's challenging 4. Celebrate small victories along the way Reminder: Discipline is about progress, not perfection. You can become a great seller by keeping it simple. Don't compare your day 1 in sales. With someone elses's day 100. True progress in sales is personal. Focus on being better than you were yesterday. Small improvements compound into huge results over time. Some ways to track your own growth: → Did I face a fear or get out of my comfort zone?  → Did I make an authentic connection? → Did I bounce back from a "no"? Remember, your sales career is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't get distracted by others' finish lines. Keep your eyes on your own path. Aim for consistent forward progress. Mediocrity is not worth settling for in sales. You have unlimited earning potential. Don't limit yourself. Mediocrity is the # 1 enemy of greatness in sales. And the worst part? It's a self-imposed limit. Sales is one of the best career paths for unlimited earning potential. But you need to believe in yourself. Next time you doubt yourself... Remember, you're not alone. Even the greats doubt themselves. Kobe Bryant once said, "I have self-doubt. I have insecurity. I have a fear of failure. I have nights when I show up at the arena and I'm like, 'My back hurts, my feet hurt, my knees hurt. I don't have it. I just want to chill.' We all have self-doubt. You don't deny it, but you also don't capitulate to it. You embrace it." But the greats still show up! Even when they have doubts. They always lean in like this: 1. Set high standards for yourself 2. Continuously improve your skills 3. Surround yourself with people who challenge you Never settle for less than your best as a salesperson. You have the power to decide what kind of life you want to live. Never forget that. Dear salespeople - Your work is my work. When you start to feel a bit anxious as you are about to do some courageous prospecting. When you are stepping into your power and trying to take control of your sales process. When you are trying to keep your chin up after another day of rejection and not-so-kind interactions from others. When you feel like your quota is the football, your prospects are Lucy and you are Charlie Brown. When you know that you can be better/more efficient/more strategic but you aren't really sure where to begin. When you so badly want to feel confident and self-assured but struggle with imposter syndrome and feelings of not-enoughness. When family, relationships or life's daily stressors are the last thing you need right now. When you know there is an ocean of people you can help but sometimes it feels like a fishbowl. I think these things, too. I feel these things, too. And, like you...I don't always have the answers I need the moment I feel like I need them. Sometimes this sh!t is really hard. Prospecting. The mere mention of the word puts fear into so many sales executive's hearts. Salespeople will, quite frankly, rather watch paint dry than go out into the world and be demoralized by introducing themselves to complete strangers not interested in what they have to offer. By design, its not fun because very few companies have a prospecting program that is anything more than "we need you to get out there." One way to address this is to find out what salespeople like to do when NOT at work. There's likely to be someone interested in sports, book clubs, or photography, to mention but a few. Proceed with your company sponsoring events linked to these interests. Unless our salespeople associate prospecting with some form of happy ending, they won't be interested.

If you have good work ethic and want to make a lot of money but are not sure where you want to take your career, get into Sales. Sales has a stigma for employing slimy, unethical people. But that really is not what true professional selling consists of. The foundation of all business starts with sales. Everything begins with you being convinced to make some sort of transaction. That can be done ethically and with a good solution. I recommend reading sales books, taking sales courses, or if you have the opportunity I did, getting a college degree in professional selling. It teaches you how to communicate, how to actively listen (which most people cannot do), and how to understand people at a psychological level. Everything I learned in becoming a good sales person still impacts my life on a daily basis. So go find a sales gig and start making some money.

Having a clear mind will help you SO much in your sales career. Have you ever had 20 tabs open on your computer and it starts making noises and glitching out? It’s the absolute worst and it frustrates me so badly. Well, it’s the same if you have 20 different thoughts running through your head, what happens? You end up being unproductive, it's the absolute worst, and it's frustrating. Clear your mind of those 20 tabs in your head and start focusing on what’s right in front of you. One step at a time. It’s like building a house. Brick by brick. Taking it one thing at a time will help you focus and be more productive when closing deals.
