As we kick off Black History Month, we're reminded of the invaluable contributions, resilience, and cultural richness of the African American community. This month isn't just about looking back; it's about recognizing the journey, the struggles, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equity. Although it is a time to celebrate, it is also crucial to acknowledge the disparities that persist in homeownership for Black Americans. Despite progress, Black homeownership rates in America still lag behind other groups, a reflection of historic injustices and discriminatory practices. Let's continue to advocate for fair housing policies, support initiatives that promote economic empowerment, and work towards a future where everyone has equal opportunities to achieve homeownership and financial security. Join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and shaping a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Together, we can make history. https://lnkd.in/gNB2aJ4G

As Black History Month draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact it has had on our collective consciousness. This month serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience, strength, and immeasurable contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It's a time to honor the trailblazers who fought tirelessly for justice, equality, and freedom in the face of adversity and oppression. From activists and artists to scientists and leaders, their legacies continue to inspire generations, reshaping the narrative of our shared history and shaping a more inclusive future. As we bid farewell to Black History Month, let us carry forward the spirit of recognition, appreciation, and celebration beyond the confines of these 29 days (shoutout to leap year). Let us commit ourselves to ongoing education, empathy, and allyship in the fight against systemic racism and injustice. May we amplify Black voices, support Black-owned businesses, and champion diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our lives. By acknowledging the past, we honor the present, and pave the way for a brighter, more equitable tomorrow for all.

🌟 Black History Month invites us to embrace not only the extraordinary achievements of notable Black figures but also to recognize and celebrate the everyday lives and contributions of Black individuals. It’s a time to reflect on the societal expectations placed on people of color—that to be acknowledged, one must be exceptional in some way. This month, let’s challenge that narrative and affirm that being oneself, in all aspects of life, is inherently valuable and worthy of celebration. Notable figures like Maya Angelou, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and James Baldwin have left indelible marks on our history and culture. However, the strength and essence of the Black community also lie in its teachers, nurses, artists, parents, and all those who contribute to the richness of our shared society by simply being themselves. As we engage in Black History Month, let’s commit to recognizing and valuing the diverse contributions of the Black community, not as exceptions but as integral parts of the tapestry of our collective history. It’s an opportunity to affirm that excellence comes in countless forms and that every individual, regardless of their background, enriches our community simply by being part of it. Here’s to a month of meaningful reflection, celebration, and a renewed commitment to inclusivity and understanding. #BlackHistoryMonth #CelebrateEveryStory #InclusiveExcellence #EverydayExcellence

Blanchard Community is founded on principles of respect, empathy, and belonging. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a safe online environment, in which all people feel valued and welcomed. Our commitment to this belief is deeply rooted in our Community Guidelines – which outlines our policies and values and prioritizes fostering digital spaces founded on these principles. In the words of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., “...during the United States National Black History Month, we celebrate the legacy of Black Americans whose power to lead, to overcome, and to expand the meaning and practice of American democracy has helped our Nation become a more fair and just society.” Blanchard Community is an international community and our members observe Black History Month at different times of the year. But the intention is the same—to honor the significant contributions and achievements of Black people throughout history and to highlight the struggles, resilience, and cultural richness of the Black community. We invite you to engage with us and celebrate the legacy of Black thought leaders here in the Community! Throughout the month we will observe in a variety of ways: ❤️ Forum discussions on your favorite topics 💚 Featuring Black authors in our newly formed Community Book Club 💛 Celebrating your favorite Black owned businesses ❤️ Learning about your favorite Black owned restaurants, recipes, and cuisine 💚 How or when do you celebrate Black History Month where you live? 💛 Have an idea? We’d love for you to share by writing to us at blanchardcommunity@blanchard.com or starting a new discussion in the Forum! We invite you to join the Community (it's FREE) and join the conversations! https://lnkd.in/ezzWN7kc #BlackHistoryMonth #Community #ConnectLearnGrow #ConnectingCommunities #DiversityEquityInclusionAndBelonging

PIE doesn’t just honor Black History Month. We put our money where our mouths are. This isn’t a post to brag, but to show just how easy it is to really be inclusive. - Our preferred providers of pies are Black-owned, local businesses - We celebrate Black excellence by seeking melanated speakers and educators FIRST … and then **paying them** for their efforts - PIE has directed dozens of hours of FREE professional speaking coaching to rising melanated experts who want to polish their message before presenting - We maintain connections to organizations like state Black Chambers of Commerce, where we collaborate with leaders by providing time and resources to improve access to government work for Black-owned businesses PIE is a community in which historically excluded groups are not only celebrated, but CENTERED. We say this because our community IS BETTER for choosing to be inclusive. We still have opportunities to improve, and we are always open to critique and improving our practice. We also believe that the best voices, products, and information comes from fairly compensated, historically excluded speakers who are put at the front of the line. We’re tired of hearing from folks who have always been in charge, because leading a broken system doesn’t mean you know what you’re doing. It’s our honor to participate in Black History Month by focusing on Black providers every day of the year. Your business could do it, too.

February is Black History Month, a special time for honoring and celebrating the many achievements of Black Americans while acknowledging the challenges they face both past and present. Black investors in the U.S. hold more than $6 trillion of wealth, yet many are under-invested.
