A few years back, I laid out a three-year plan for my team to follow.
We’ve continuously tracked our progress on this plan, and we talk about it whenever we hold our twice-annual water team meetings.
We’re now nearing the conclusion of that three-year plan, and we’re seeing the results pay off big.
By our measure, our division has successfully serviced a broader sector of the market that we feel has been underserved.
Now I can’t attribute it all to us and the plan. But I do think our folks deserve a lot of the credit because we had a big hand in it, for sure.
When we all get together in the fall for our next North America team summit, I’m planning to paint the vision for the next three years.
So, whereas before, we were taking more of a block-and-tackle strategy, now we’re employing more of an entrepreneurial approach to these long-term plans.
I want us to start exploring with things like AI and other new tools we can use to keep that forward momentum going.
So how can we push ourselves?
How can these tools help us advance as winners of projects and so forth to be better at our goals?
Those answers will all come together in time.
But it’s a good feeling as a leader when you set up a plan for your team, and then everyone gets to see some measurable results from their collective efforts.
