In the 1930s, Trachte introduced a “modernistic cornice” façade for store buildings to give an art deco appearance instead of the typical, rounded Trachte roof. When this Trachte building opened in 1939 it was a hamburger stand called The Flash. By the 1950s it had been moved to Atwood Ave. in Madison and became Vic’s Café and later a barbershop.
