Makes perfect sense that this article is posted under the byline of Newsweek’s reporter based in London, UK, whose beat is US and European politics, global affairs, and housing… right?!
It’s absolutely ridiculous.

1wI'm dealing with drought notifications for clients throughout the South and Mid-Atlantic. Newsweek, once again, using a clickbait headline that its own copy undercuts. And they purposefully used "permanent water restrictions" because they know it will mix in their story with the notifications utilities have to put out during this heat wave. "The new regulation, which was approved by the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) on Wednesday, will require the state's largest water utilities—which serve 95 percent of California residents—to reduce the amount of water they provide over the next 15 years. It doesn't apply directly to households or individuals in the state." If you think about it, nature's going to beat them to the punch if they don't take action.
