When I lived in San Francisco I lived in an apartment exclusively with management consultants - in retrospect it was truly a peak SF experience (and worked for me - no one was ever home so I had the place to myself…a LOT). I’ll never forget one weekend in December where one of my roommates booked a same day, round trip ticket from SF to Boston, which struck me as odd. “I’m doing a points run” he said to me; “I’m only 2 flights from having the highest tier on United Airlines and I want it for next year.” I was fascinated that customer loyalty programs can make us do crazy things to feel special when we travel - but who really benefits from these special programs? That’s why Christopher Michaud and I are tackling the incentives around customer loyalty programs on this week’s episode of the #FuzzyLogic podcast. In it we chat in industry experts Albert Hsieh of Foxtrot Dash and Noel Beavis about the history of customer loyalty programs, why your travel partners care about them, and when to best use your points for travel 👀 #incentives #travel #customerloyalty #fuzzylogic

Disconnect between hospitality tech and hospitality? Nima Anvar, longtime GM and now CEO of GuestChat, joins Adam Mogelonsky and Neil Foster on this episode of the GAIN Momentum Podcast. Here's what you'll learn: 1. Background of the Guest: Nima is the CEO of Guest Chat, a company providing chatbot and AI technology solutions for the hospitality industry. Prior to that, he was the general manager of Siesta Hotel in Grenada for over two decades, following his initial career as an epidemiologist. His diverse background brings a unique perspective on hotel technology. 2. Scaling a Business: Nima emphasizes the importance of automation when scaling a business, suggesting that entrepreneurs should focus on automating processes to achieve scalability. He also stresses the critical role of sales, noting that a successful sales strategy is essential for business growth. 3. Sales Strategy and Challenges: Nima suggests that sales should be the primary focus when scaling a business, mentioning his own mistake of focusing more on product development rather than sales. He advises entrepreneurs to start building their sales skills early and mentions that having a good product is important, but without a solid sales strategy, the business won't grow. 4. Hospitality Technology Challenges: In the context of hospitality technology, Nima discusses the disconnect between technology providers and hoteliers. He highlights the importance of empathy, understanding the daily operations and challenges of hoteliers, and focusing on building trust and care in business relationships. He also mentions that gaining credibility requires consistent effort and trust-building over time. 5. Emerging Technologies and Future Trends: Nima touches upon the impact of large language models (LLMs) in hospitality technology and the potential risks they pose. He underscores the importance of accuracy and reliability in these technologies, especially considering the legal risks associated with providing incorrect information. Additionally, he talks about the need for continuous learning, reflection, and a balanced work-life approach to foster innovation and maintain a forward-thinking mindset in business. Morning all, We had the pleasure of chatting with B. Nick Popovici, the co-founder and CEO of Vita Mojo recently. Its always fascinating to meet the people behind the product. Nick shared his story of why Vita arrived in the first place, his thoughts on tech in our industry and his love of Nick Hounsfield's The Wave In Bristol! I think my favourite quote from Nick was "Technology is not a sideshow. It is the show now." Here are three more key takeaways from my conversation with Nick: Customisation is Key: Nick emphasised the importance of customisation in technology solutions for hospitality businesses. By offering highly customisable and flexible solutions, operators can tailor their tech to fit their unique brand and operational needs. This level of customisation not only enhances the guest experience but also drives operational efficiency. Holistic Problem-Solving: Nick highlighted the significance of approaching tech solutions holistically. Rather than focusing on individual problems in isolation, operators should take a step back and look at the bigger picture. By identifying the root causes of challenges and addressing them comprehensively, businesses can avoid patchwork solutions and create a more seamless operational environment. Operational Excellence Drives Success: Operational efficiency is a key factor in the success of hospitality businesses. By leveraging technology to streamline processes, reduce labor costs, and optimise operations, operators can enhance profitability and customer satisfaction. Nick emphasised the importance of operational excellence as a key driver of success in the industry. I highly recommend tuning in to the full episode to gain more valuable insights from B. Nick Popovici on how technology is reshaping the hospitality tech landscape. You can listen to the episode right here 👇 https://lnkd.in/e_3RxC8n Let's continue to embrace innovation and technology to drive growth and success in the hospitality industry! 🚀 #TechOnToast #HospitalityTech #Innovation #OperationalExcellence
