We, humans, are the reason behind this, and we should now work together to prevent it from getting worse. A boiling earth is THE sign for us to take action before we harm ourselves further. It’s about time we took #climatechange seriously. Don’t think we need to reach the “Global Burning” stage for us to finally take the prompt and necessary action.
The U.N. warns ‘an era of global boiling’ has started. What does that mean?

I try to frame my #climateadaptation and #naturalasset conversations around making life better and safer. If we cannot appeal to what people care about, “the urgency just isn’t there for many of us.” Great piece Katharine Hayhoe.

#globalwarming to #globalboiling Our way of life is completely unsustainable. What is it we are trying to sustain? A world that values corporate profits and profiteering above everything else? Where are the adults in the room? Have a look around, and ask yourself, where are the governments, politicians, business leaders, who are telling citizens we need to change our way of life? No, let's not frighten the horses. We can't tell people the truth, because as Jack Nicholson says "you can't handle the truth." .......let's join the dots........ No one is coming to rescue us. Time to grow up, show up, and be the adults in the room? #climatebreakdown #climateemergency #climatecrisis #cognitivedissonance #wilfulblindness

With the intention of taking a step forward to awaken the youth of the world against the crisis of pollution and climate change, I am leading the Global Climate School Strike. As a part of that, I would like to go to every village, every town, city and ask the youth, school students, college students, young people, adults, scientists, everyone who has studied higher education to protect the earth from pollution and to participate in protecting the environment, natural ecosystem, natural resources and nature. Let's save the earth from pollution! #fossilfuels #stopdiggingfossilfuels #Pollution #globalwarming #climatechange #ClimateEmergency Geethika Venkatesan International youth climate and environmental activist and global climate awareness campaigner 🔥

An important read. The Blue Pacific cannot contemplate at 1.5 degree Celsius plus world. The scale of impacts will be simply too large and too devastating for atoll states and for low lying communities. This is a moment to pivot and work harder in other areas. We must push and scale innovative solutions. Some of these possibilities and answers are eloquently outlined here by William Solecki. Most of these are "well within our grasp." #ClimateAction #ClimateResilience #AnGlobalClimateSolutions #SIDS4thConference

With the recent political turmoil regarding the UK’s #ClimateTargets, people across the population are distressed about the effects of human activities on the planet. But does the distress and care about #Climate vary between people? Our #Findings suggest, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, that individuals over the age of 40 appear to be more concerned about the negative impact that #ClimateChange and #GlobalWarming is having on the planet, compared to their under 40 counterparts. Or are younger people not anxious as they have simply given up? What do you think? Read more about our #Insights here: https://buff.ly/3pszaUB #DectechBuzz

Trees and other nature based solutions are important to reduce the impact of climate change. This article on the US describes a temperature phenomenon that seems to be atributable to large trees replantation decades ago. Planting trees (the right species in the right place) can help mitigate the effects of climate change, trees also provide other benefits such as improved mental health, well being 🌴🌴🌴 … but these solutions are no substitute to strong reduction in carbon emissions, they need to come on top of other efforts. An article that also takes us to the US history, back in the first half of last century, worth reading it for different reasons 😊 #nbs #naturebasedsolution #tree #reforestation

Climate change hits vulnerable communities hardest, despite their low contributions to emissions. Along with GREEN Foundation, we're taking action at the nexus of food, energy, and health systems to drive positive change. We team up with small farmers, migration groups, fisherfolk, and more, working hand in hand with civil society. Together, we're not just addressing climate challenges but also raising #awareness and making a real difference. Read more: bit.ly/CMS-CP #solvists #climatechange
