Some of the best examples of Army leaders that understood not just the mission, but also the utmost importance of treating all with dignity and respect while building the bench of future Army leaders.
Congratulations and thank you for all your service and mentorship…you made a difference.
The dinner the evening prior to the inductions was fabulous! Congratulations to all inductees, well deserved and thank you for all your contributions to national security!
TBT: Seems like only yesterday …
Army Leaders this week learned how the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is preparing Soldiers to leverage Fourth Wave technologies that will incorporate AI & Advanced Robotics during competition, crisis, and potentially the next conflict.
From leveraging Cloud computing across the conflict area, to small autonomous airborne, land-based, and sea-based drones to augment Soldier reconnaissance & surveillance capabilities.
Might be time to start talking about those ‘Three Laws of Robotics,’ which Isaac Asminov thought up during the late 1940s and 1950s. And based on James Cameron’s 40-year old SciFi classic, as well as the recent release of The Creator, Congress might want to get involved when folks start talking about giving AI & Advanced Robotics weapons release authority. Just saying, https://lnkd.in/g25MYFU3
“Harnessing the upside [of A.I.] while mitigating the downsides is going to be the story of the next 20 years. And some states will take advantage of this to entrench their authoritarianism, we in the west have to defend our values, and not slip into authoritarianism. That's going to be our great challenge, to withstand that pressure to want to surveil everything.”
“. . . and the Chinese are certainly aware of the power of A.I. to increase the government's ability to surveil, repress, and nudge their population into so-called patriotic behaviors. The United States government has virtually done none of that domestically; it's been in the hands of corporate actors. Those corporate actors are not interested in subverting democracy, but polarization has happened to be very aligned with their commercial and business models, as they're doing everything they can to generate more clicks, more engagement, build more data.”
“So, the question is going to be, how will the United States, the Europeans, and other governments ostensibly driven by rule of law work together with these technology companies to harness the productivity that comes from A.I. without slipping into authoritarianism. Because the easiest way for governments to align with technology companies around A.I. Is to forget about the common interest and will of the average citizen. It will be to use the power to surveil, to use the power to control and to nudge. And that's contrary to everything that we are as citizens of a representative democracy.” -Ian Bremer, Europa Group, August 2023 on CNN
Our Quantum-Systems family of systems is growing.
After placing the best product for mid-range reconnaissance (MRR) with our VECTOR, it is now time to introduce the best short-range reconnaissance (SRR) for the world: The TWISTER.

#Digitalization continues to change the way we do things - and that is no different for our military.
To gain battlefield advantage, the Army and Department of Defense are looking at ways to integrate smart and #WearableTechnology into elements of the field and garrison equipment. 💻
While these tools bring value, we must understand the vulnerabilities they are creating in order to protect our troops.
We explore how to protect our forces against #CyberThreats via Army Engineer Magazine. Turn to page 28. ⬇

Part of the research I am conducting for my book on the 8th Infantry Regiment of the Illinois National Guard (370th Infantry Regiment) is on the history of the National Guard. This part of the research has been fascinating. From learning about the first three regiments formed during the colonial period to the various Militia and National Defense Acts that helped to shape the Guard into what it is today, it has truly been eye opening. If I may say so myself, it is one of the most interesting chapters in the book.
From Oct. 30 to Nov. 17 at @USAG Stuttgart, a group of Army Civilian Professionals and Local National employees attended the Civilian Education System Intermediate Course.
This program, a key component of the Army's Lines of Effort to maintain a skilled and ready workforce, illustrates the Army's commitment to nurturing its leaders.

This week the @NorthropGrumman #IBCS team hit another important milestone for the U.S. Army when they delivered the first production Engagement Operations Center (EOC). The EOC is the brains of IBCS and empowers warfighters to orchestrate actions and make faster decisions across the multidomain battlespace. @FrankLozano, as you said, our soldiers deserve the best. And we are giving it to them! #DefiningPossible
Increased mobility is great! Fully Mobile command posts would be ideal. Our Army builds technology requirements to fit the command structure, what if the command structure was shaped from the technology capability improvements to reduce staff?
I’ve used similiar expanding vehicle platforms in expeditionary units like the 301st ESC. There were some lessons learned from those that I really wanted included into the future solutions. Im glad to see PEOs have Soldier Touch Points (STP) now, however it would be improved to have Senior Warrant Preminary Design Meetings (SWPDM) with those who have used these things before in exercises.
Quick tips: Expanding vehicles only expand at the halt, the generators need excellent ventilation/airflow or they overheat, more moving parts means more that breaks, and more maintenance needed especially in colder climates.

Loving that Soldiers are recognizing the importance of data and data literacy, and that Army leadership is too.
Check out the recommended article, “Take Ownership of Your Formation’s Data Literacy”.

One of the #USArmy chief of staff's focus areas is strengthening the Profession of Arms.
In support of that effort, Gen. Randy George has selected top articles written by Army leaders on topics related to force development.
The chief’s choices for October can be found on the Army University website. This month’s recommendations cover data literacy, FM 3-0’s implications to Army aviation, and a vision for the National Guard of 2040.
