Disability isn't always something you can see, nor is it a stigma that we should be embarrassed about. As we look back on National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we are reminded of the incredible contributions made by individuals with disabilities. Beyond this month's recognition, Epiq cultivates inclusion through initiatives like Disability Pride Month, Intersectional ERG programming, and our recently launched voluntary self-identification campaign. Our new Self-ID campaign celebrates individual experiences, empowering our team members to openly share and contribute to our inclusive workplace. At Epiq, the diversity of our people is one of our greatest strengths. #epiqdei #diversityandinclusion #disabilityinclusion #disabilityawareness You can learn more about Disability Employment Awareness Month here https://lnkd.in/eQsUZ9U

💡 Did you know that 80% of disabilities are invisible? 💡 July is Disability Pride Month and yesterday we were joined by Esi Hardy from Celebrating Disability to talk about disability ally-ship in the workplace and ways we can be more disability-inclusive. It was a fantastic session where Esi took us through the different types and models of disability and the different kinds of barriers that disabled people face. Each of us then gave 3 pledges based on our learning from the discussion on ways we can be more disability-inclusive, this ranged from a company-wide inclusive meeting "cheat sheet" to exploring new innovative recruitment tools. To quote Esi: "Barriers are erected by humans. Therefore they can be demolished" and at Prolific we are committed to celebrating our differences and coming together to explore ways of breaking down these barriers for all types of disabilities. Look out for an update on our pledges and changes to our processes and ways of working in the coming months 👀 #DisabilityPrideMonth #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityAllyship

Consultant, Speaker, Digital Marketing Professional, and Disabled Influencer - Professional Horoscope ~ Entertainer & Innovator
Why is the disability community constantly left off of your diversity and inclusion lists? You know what I'm talking about... During seminars, in marketing, in research studies, in EVERYTHING. There will be a list of marginalized groups included, but 9.9 times out of 10, disability doesn't make the cut. What do you think this communicates to your disabled employees or your disabled consumers? Because guaranteed, you have both, even if you aren't directly aware of it. During this National Disability Employment Awareness Month, if you can't make big changes to your inclusion efforts by hosting panels and bringing in disabled consultants, do what you can to at least change your language to be inclusive of the disability community. It really does make a huge difference. #NDEAM #DisabilityInclusion #DiversityAndInclusion #DEI
