As a mum of mixed-race children, Juneteenth holds profound significance for me. This day which commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in 1865, serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice. For my children, Juneteenth is not just a historical milestone but a beacon of hope and resilience. Juneteenth offers an opportunity to teach them about the value of freedom, the strength of the human spirit, and the importance of diversity. Thank you Workday for giving us the day off to celebrate Juneteenth and remind ourselves what is really important! Lets take a moment to reflect on our shared history, educate ourselves and others, and strive for a future where all children, regardless of their skin color, can grow up in a world free from prejudice and hatred. Still a long way to go but together, we can honor the past and build a more inclusive and equitable future. #Juneteenth #Diversity #Inclusion #Equality #CelebrateFreedom #NeverForget #wday

Reflecting on the profound impact of Juneteenth, it’s crucial to recognize that slavery's legacy extends beyond the denial of equal pay; it fundamentally denied the right to inclusivity. #Inclusivity means more than #representation; it means breaking down systemic barriers that have long marginalized foreign scholars and other underrepresented groups.
