Giving our children the best opportunities in life is every parent's top priority. Robotics can be an excellent way to get kids interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) from an early age. This cutting-edge field allows kids to develop a wide range of valuable skills in an engaging, hands-on way.
Here are 5 compelling reasons why you should get your child involved in robotics.

Looking for a ROS2 and self driving course?
"This is a purely from my personal experience"
I haven't finished this course fully, but have completed an optimum level to rate this course and convince you to enroll in this course if you are finding ROS2 tutorials are difficult to follow up.
I have recently enrolled in "self driving and ROS2 - learn by doing" robotics course Antonia Brandi, a robotics software engineer at Pal Robotics to learn ROS2 and yeah it quite covers all the essentials one need to know for building a self driving car. But, you want to know why a small investment is worthy when compared to freely available learning tutorials.
1. System of study - Explanation of theory, then laboratory section.
2. Good explanation of examples to grasp theory quickly.
3. Well organized and selection of topics.
Course can be completed within 1-2 weeks with daily commitment of 1-1.15 hours, which is far better duration than for me to learn ROS.

Attention all robotics engineers, enthusiasts, programmers and innovation/technology devotees! Did you know that we have a fledgling and robust robotics elective at Loveland Classical Academy? Our eyes are on the prize for February 17, 2024 as we prepare for the VEX V5 Over/Under Tri-ball Competition. This is a late generation 2.0 robot that can easily manipulate a Tri-Ball! Take a look! Let us know what you think! #researchanddevelopment#aiapplications#robotics#engineering#coding
Last night was “Challenge Night” at the TOC Summer Robotics Camp. Students were previously shown how to use the block code app on their laptops and to upload the code to their robots. They were given three challenges to overcome utilizing the new skills they learned.
The three challenges were:
1. Start your robot, say “Hello”, drive forward 60 centimeters, return to starting point, say “Goodbye”
2. Program the robot to drive forward in a 60 centimeter square
3. Program the robot to drive a 60 centimeter triangle
In the video you can see one of the dads lending a helping hand. The “triangle” challenge was designed to strengthen their “problem solving muscles”. 😊

Hi everyone,
After refreshing my mathematical basis I completed the Modern Robotics Specialization, offered by Northwestern University on Coursera. It is a solid introduction to joint-based robotics, from design to execution, and I really enjoyed learning with this robotics fundamentals course made by Park & Lynch to help apply the concepts from their textbook: Modern Robotics: Mechanics, Planning, and Control.

Diving into an early morning read, I've emerged with a newfound optimism for the trajectory of our world. Reflecting on the vast number of students from across the globe participating in this monumental competition, our future seems brighter than ever.
The young technology students from our very own #Pittsburgh region are not just participants but pioneers. They've harnessed the power of robotics, demonstrating its boundless possibilities for societal betterment. Congratulations to the students, their coaches, mentors and those in the local Robotics scene that provided them time and attention to achieve this accolade.
Empowerment isn't just having knowledge; it’s utilizing that knowledge for the welfare of society. It’s about nurturing that knowledge, passing it on, and showcasing the transformative power of technology. The narrative these students weave is one of how technology, when wielded rightly, has the potential to reshape our world.
Though still nascent, the worlds of Robotics and AI hold vast reservoirs of untapped potential. The upcoming generation of students is offering us a tantalizing glimpse into "the art of the possible" – how these technologies can augment, elevate, and enrich our daily lives.
A hearty salute to the Pittsburgh Robotics Network for your commendable endeavors. From establishing industry networking and educational outreach to now fostering the dreams and aspirations of these rising high school talents, your impact is palpable.
