As we celebrate our nation’s Declaration of Independence that happened 248 years ago, CONSIDER THIS: The American flag does NOT fly because it represents one political party or another. Our flag and this holiday are a reminder of founding fathers and brave soldiers who fought for our nation’s INDEPENDENCE and the FREEDOM to self-govern under GENUINE DEMOCRACY. It is a reminder for ALL races of our nation’s enduring commitment to JUSTICE, LIBERTY, and the importance of INTEGRITY (in the public eye and behind closed doors). As we navigate the complexities of these times, may we ALL choose to engage in encouraging THOUGHTFUL reflection and DIALOGUE instead of divisiveness. As our pledge of allegiance says: We are ONE nation under God. Isn’t time we started acting like that? . . . #July4th #Independence #OneNationUnderGod

We are pleased to host this annual event and excited to be adding a reading of the Freedom Petition co-authored by Prince Whipple. The inclusion of Prince Whipple and the Freedom Petition is very much in keeping with the theme of independence; and invites us to recognize that our journey as a nation is long, and full of triumphs and short-comings, enlightenment and contradiction. Democracy is an ideal that requires ongoing care, practice, and tending; and the two stories shared together is an energizing reminder of that. https://lnkd.in/eUig2UGc

Former director of the Iraqi Red Crescent Disasters Division, human rights activist. My title is ambassador of the poor
Peace is better than war Real and lasting victories are victories of peace, not victories of war. Establishing lasting peace is an educational work. To achieve it, we must move away from war. Therefore, peace is more important than justice. Peace was not created for the sake of justice, but on the contrary, justice was created for the sake of peace. Let us be advocates of peace and reject violence, wars and killing

#politics #unitedstates This post from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute appears to be mobilizing the United States for major conflicts on two fronts if recent public remarks by Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen are any indication (CNBC, U.S. can 'certainly' afford military support to both Israel and Ukraine, Janet Yellen says https://lnkd.in/eKWrrQV4) or for a world war should these two conflicts metastasize into one as Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy had called for on many occasions. I take world leaders seriously when they speak. True. Ronald Reagan was indeed correct about sacrifice for American progress. Americans have sacrificed their life, limb, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, enough in a state of perpetual war for 22 years since 9/11 because the U.S. government had not only created the conditions for it but was unable to prevent it. Now it is time for the do nothing kleptocrats in charge since 1993 who have done more harm than good for the United States to sacrifice. Without sarcasm and in all sincerity this is the honest and truthful solution to make progress together. The phrase ‘war crime’ is a redundancy because all war is crime. I do not believe in punishments even for the criminally insane. I am willing to work with them to rehabilitate their souls. As Step #1 of this rehabilitation, please give me an accounting of every dollar and cent spent on national security and defense since the day after 9/11 on The White House public website by Thanksgiving, all unclassified if any of it is classified.
President Reagan believed in the sacrifices that America makes every day to protect our freedoms and advance the cause of liberty. Do you think America is still on track? Let us know in the comments. #ReganLegacy #AmericanSacrifice #AmericaFirst

Standing against executioners while keeping abstraction in its place means recognizing our relations to the realities of murder. Two points help: all civilian life matters equally and we are responsible for the destruction of life to which we contribute. https://lnkd.in/gufVdXQM

As we observe Memorial Day, we are reminded of the profound sacrifices made by countless men and women in uniform who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. This day is not just a long weekend; it is a solemn tribute to the valor and dedication of our servicemembers who have paid the ultimate price for the values we hold dear. Their courage and commitment are at the heart of what many refer to as American Exceptionalism. This notion encompasses the idea that the United States, founded on principles of liberty, democracy, and equality, holds a unique place in history. It suggests that our country has a distinct role in advancing freedom and justice around the world. American Exceptionalism is not merely a boastful claim; it is a call to action. It compels us to uphold the ideals that our fallen heroes fought for, ensuring that their legacy lives on through our actions and policies. It challenges us to strive for excellence, to innovate, and to lead with integrity and compassion on the global stage. As we enjoy the freedoms and opportunities provided by living in this exceptional nation, let’s take a moment to honor those who made it possible. May we remember that the bedrock of our exceptionalism is built upon the sacrifices of those who served. #memorialday #armedforces #investing #insurance
