Job searches - I've learned that job searches depend on both the method of the job search (such as the career center, or website used) as well as the type of resume that you're using in order to get a job.

I scroll through job postings daily. I passed one that had taken almost 8,800 applications. Yes you read that correctly. That's insane to me. That sends so many red flags 🚩 to me. To me you feel a job seeker has to come to you with a clear defined goal but your company doesn't have one! Still taking applications, with no cut off, it's wild! Then when I review the pay, it's not as competitive as one would think because students out of college make more than what is posted! Moral of the story: stay hungry on the job search but not desperate. Ask companies in interviews why are the holding job openings open so long? How many rounds of interviews? What are they looking for? How long has this position been open? Because if they are holding the position open this long that means they are not being realistic in what they are looking for, have no idea, & they are creating more tasks for persons already working there. This is an interview for them as well to see if are interested in working at their company too!

⏲️Your Time is Valuable: Avoid These Job Postings at All Costs! Have you ever seen a job posting that just didn’t sit well with you? Maybe there wasn’t enough information, it was hard to read, or seemed unclear. You’re not alone—long before we land an interview, we get our first impressions from the job posting—and there’s a lot you can learn from it. Some things to remember are: ✅Transparency: Is important information about the role, location, salary, and benefits easy to find, or do you have to play detective? ✅Organization: Is there a flow, or is the information scattered? Does the posting make sense, like spelling and grammar? ✅Realistic: While we understand the importance of finding the right match, let's think about whether the responsibilities read like a long checklist or help paint a clear picture. Because this role is going to be filled by one person, not twenty, right? For more tips visit: https://lnkd.in/edWSkWcs What do you look for in a job posting? how do i add a job on my resume if its the same position i held with 2 different companies? For example, I worked at company A doing this job, and company B I did the same exact thing. How do I get my resume to reflect this without copying/pasting from the first job?

If you're hoping to land your dream job, it's important to remember to be honest. Being untruthful on your resume highlights your lack of competence and may raise doubts about your credibility from the very start of the application process. Take the time to carefully review your resume and revise it with honesty, to the best of your knowledge. You'll be better positioned to impress potential employers with your qualifications and character.
