"A hallucination is a fact, not an error; what is erroneous is a judgment based upon it." Bertrand Russell, 1914. When building clinical support systems with Generative AI, or systems that need to actually 'act' like in robotics, the above statement finds relevance again. While developing the large-scale knowledge base for robots in 2013 (RoboBrain, https://lnkd.in/gVHGbhJw), an erroneous judgment would mean a broken cup. Error rates were like 90%, but back then, that was a huge improvement to use deep learning for robotics problem.
