R3VOLUTION for industrial water management! 💧 Water use in industrial settings has various impacts on the environment, economy, and society in Europe. One of the main problems in this field is water scarcity, since 40 % of abstracted water in Europe is used by industry. Under the title "A revolutionary approach for maximizing process water reuse and resource recovery through a smart, circular and integrated solution", the R3VOLUTION project that has now been launched will revolutionize industrial water management in the EU. To pave the way for sustainable and efficient water and resource consumption, the project develops key innovations to enable economic, environmental, and operational water reclamation, addressing solutes and energy recovery challenges. Together with Felix Schoeller, we are leading the development of a membrane technology to maximize the water reuse and resource recovery. To this end, an intelligent and circular approach is being developed that offers an integrated solution not only from a technological, but also from an ecological and economic point of view. We also support process automation. #waterreuse #resourcerecovery #watermanagement #industry #project

In collaboration with Scottish Water, we've demonstrated how technology can drastically reduce operational risk while delivering substantial cost savings. Needing to overhaul its approach to 'non-complex' projects (e.g., proactive, anticipated replacement of a service item), Scottish Water was impeded by inefficient and labour-intensive processes - introducing excess time, cost, and increased operational risk. By deploying a combination of technologies across Scottish Water's entire lifecycle, back-end functions enjoy a simpler, more efficient process in which information flows seamlessly from one team to another, and engineers are empowered to take control, innovate, and make their own decisions – boosting productivity, job satisfaction, and retention. Read the case study in full here to find out how this was achieved and what the journey looked like https://lnkd.in/dSgCD9KF #WaterSector #UtilityIndustry #Innovation

CEO Todd Gleason recently shared CECO's strategy behind expanding the company's industrial water portfolio in the September 2023 issue of Global Water Intelligence (GWI) Magazine. Gleason believes that water will be one of the largest areas for shareholder value creation over the next year or two. Read more in the attached article to see how industrial water is creating more opportunities for CECO's future growth. #CECO #CECOEnvironmental #industrialwater

The second E in the 4 Es series that represents the major challenges in wastewater treatment is Energy and operating costs. We hear so much about optimising and refining processes on wastewater treatment plants, but a good business case is always necessary. In the last few years, it has been almost impossible to even maintain pre-covid expenditure levels on wastewater sites, let alone achieve a reduction. So how significant is the challenge we now face, and what is the right approach to mitigate energy and operating costs? Please read the content below and let us know what you think. Today and tomorrow, I am joined by my colleagues Niels Tiemessen, Graeme Baker, Ellen van Voorthuizen, and Neil Townend at the European Wastewater Management Conference & Exhibition, in Manchester, where we will be talking about this subject and more. We hope to see you there. Next up in the 4 Es is Effluent.

Did you know that Wärtsilä's Reverse Osmosis (RO) freshwater makers for ships and offshore platforms can produce between 20 and 1000 tons of permeate per day? They feature a modular, flexible design that is customisable to meet any vessel's operational and space requirements. By recovering energy and minimising chemical use, our RO technology sustains operations while caring for our oceans. Key benefits include low energy consumption, easy maintenance, and minimal environmental impact. Our expert team also provides guidance on optimising your entire freshwater system for sustainability. We partner with clients to analyse usage, identify savings opportunities, and implement an integrated plan. Clean water is essential, but how we produce it matters. Low carbon is closely linked with wastewater management, as it plays a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development. By implementing low-carbon practices in the treatment and disposal of wastewater, we can minimize the environmental impact of this process. Energy-efficient technologies can be utilized in the treatment of wastewater to not only reduce carbon emissions but also improve overall energy efficiency. This means that these facilities consume less energy and provide surplus energy that can be used for other purposes. Check out this video that showcases how Veolia assists its clients in decarbonizing. Don't miss our upcoming webinar on October 31st, titled "Decarbonisation Solutions for South East Asia Industry," where you can gain a deeper understanding of how Veolia supported their customers in their decarbonization journey. https://buff.ly/3FmvIBG #watermanagement #wastewater #water #waterefficiency #reclaim #waterreuse #wastewatertreatment #wastewatermanagement #decarbonisation #carbonemission
