Here’s the thing about leading a boutique PR firm: sometimes we’re just plain FULL. Full as in we turn down projects, say no to ideal clients, can’t-take-on-anything-else full. ❌
And honestly? That’s part of what makes us really good at our jobs. 🙌
We *actually* say no when we need to.
The decision to turn down work is hard as a business owner. We say no to potential income, marquee-name clients and fun projects. But when we say no, it’s always a decision rooted in our team’s health, and a way to live our core value of People First.
I know firsthand what it’s like to be overwhelmed by my workload. I know what it’s like to wake up, work nonstop, and then go to bed, with nothing else between. When I worked like that in the past, my to-do list was overflowing, people weren’t getting my best, and I was rushing through deliverables.
📣 Our clients deserve better. They deserve rested teammates, with focused brains, and the capacity to innovate and think strategically.
📣 Our teammates deserve better. They deserve time to rest and recharge outside of work hours, to care for themselves and their communities.
When I opened Forthright, I committed to doing it differently than the big boy agencies.
So every time we say no, yeah, I’m disappointed, but moreover, I’m also PROUD that we are sticking to our values and protecting our team and clients. 🚀
