Do you know Will Guidara? What about the book Unreasonable Hospitality? I was listening to Big Think’s TikTok about him. TL;DR What a carry over to fundraising. We are looking for “touches” to show that we’re involved and present when working with donors and prospects, but that isn’t enough. The interactions need to personal, intentional, and purely focused. It is about the full buy-in of the service-oriented mentality. They made a direct reference to The Bear and how one of the waiters at the beginning of working at a prime establishment was annoyed to be cleaning spoons, but at the end created an incredible experience for a customer who just wanted to try a deep dish pizza. He made that happen when the establishment didn’t even serve pizza, and they conformed the pizza to fit their establishment’s standards. Lightening will always strike occasionally, but if you want it to happen more often, you need to put up a lightning rod and attract it. Commit to the service, to receive the buy-in and investment from your community. #service #nonprofit #fundraising #leadership #experience

I'm a member of PAMPA - a community and network of producers, agents and managers (based across Europe) who work in the performing arts. There's 15 of us, all volunteering, coming together and dedicating our time to specific working groups and the wider PAMPA cause. Over the coming months we're hosting/holding some public spaces and sharing knowledge and resources to connect with others as we know the role of the independent producer can sometimes be lonely. 1) Come and join us in Brussels on 16th May at KFDA where we'll discuss, exchange knowledge and hear from KFDA Co-Artistic Director Daniel Blanga Gubbay. 2) We'll be sharing some findings of our Europe wide survey (analysed and supported by On The Move) which gathered 380 responses from people in 25 countries and creates a greater understanding of our realities and care responsibilities. 3) One of the areas I've been working on is a pool of resources - we’re attempting to gather and share links to existing online resources around our roles and working practices. There's over 100 so far split across case studies, fair practices, sustainability, finances, education and mobility. If you know of some resources that aren't on the list, there's a Google Form to tell us about it and I'll update it. 4) Next month (6th June, 13:00-14:30 CET) we're hosting our first Open Online Session for those who want connect, share thoughts and exchange on specific topics that are relevant to our work. Besides our weekly pub quizzes, America’s Pub Quiz is frequently hired to host private functions for Fortune 500 companies, private parties, smaller local companies and non-profit organizations. Please note that discounts may be available for verifiable non-profit organizations (501c designation). We come into your place of business or a neutral venue (like a bar or restaurant) and host a fun trivia game for your gang. APQ can tailor the quiz to your desires. APQ has a wide network of venues we work closely with; we can hold private functions at one of our existing locations or a venue of choice by the client. Keep in mind that if a venue does not have adequate sound equipment America’s Pub Quiz can provide it at no additional cost. Our game consists of 20 questions that are split into 6 rounds of 3 questions each. There is a halftime and a final question designed to keep everyone in the game. Each question is separated by one song. During that song teams deliberate on the answer. The game itself is casually paced. The structure allows for an entertaining time while still allowing for conversation, dinner, and drinks. We’ve been at this since 2008, you can trust us to put on an awesome time, with entertaining questions while throwing in some humorous (and safe for work) jokes. We can also tailor our private events to our client’s needs, so if you have some specific topics you’d like, we’re all ears!
