The semiconductor industry is projected to create 85,000 new technical jobs by 2030, but nearly 80% of them might remain unfilled. This shortage is exacerbated by immigration hurdles, as one-third of the industry's workforce is foreign-born. Although foreign-born workers are already studying in the US, current immigration laws make it difficult for them to stay. "It's incredibly hard to imagine that we're going to be able to build the semiconductor industry in the future if we don't reform our immigration law," says Todd Schulte, president of immigration and criminal justice reform advocacy organization FWD #SemiconductorIndustry #ImmigrationReform #TechnicalJobs #Workforce #FutureOfWork

ALERT to everyone with an Employment Authorization Document It appears unlikely that USCIS will extend its temporary rule that previously extended validity dates of Employment Authorization Documents by up to 540 days. The rule expires October 26, 2023. Now watch as processing times exceed a year again (in some cases, they already are). #immigration #immigrationlawyer #ead

🇺🇸 USA alert: A proposed rule seeks to expand the $4,000 or $4,500 9-11 Response fee to include H-1B and L-1 extension petitions filed by employers subject to the law, instead of only requiring the fee for their initial and change of employer petitions. The 9-11 Response fee applies only to petitioners filing an H-1B or L-1 petition who employ 50 or more employees in the United States if more than 50 percent of the employees are in H-1B or L-1 status. . . . #immigration #migration #globalmobility #immigrationlaw #immigrationlawyer #directusimmigration #miatraibrown #usvisa #h1bvisa #h1b #usavisa #l1visa #usatravel

2wDear VIALTO Team,I am an Senior Executive of TSMC AZ, and I am writing to express my concerns regarding the reimbursement process for our company expenses. Despite providing various supporting documents for my expenses, the VIALTO team has repeatedly rejected our submissions for various reasons. What is particularly troubling is the dismissive attitude reflected in the responses, often summarized in a few words such as “cannot understand.” This behavior is not only unprofessional but also hinders the efficient processing of expense claims for our employees. As we are in the initial stages of our collaboration, it is crucial for both our companies to address and resolve this issue promptly. I believe that the higher management at VIALTO will recognize the importance of this matter and take the necessary steps to improve the reimbursement process and ensure it does not negatively impact our partnership.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a swift resolution.Sincerely,Ying-Lang,WangTSMC Arizona Corporation
