Our law review article re: social determinants of health (SDOH) and data use issues has been published in the Journal of Health and Life Sciences law for the American Health Law Association! In this very comprehensive article (linked below in comments), we explain SDOH and its importance, provide an overview of SDOH developments in the US, and discuss relevant legal and technological issues that arise and offer some best practices to navigate them. Looking forward to understanding next steps in the many IRA Court Law suits staggered around the country — a litigators strategy for a possible Supreme Court pickup. I will tell you all about it later. Pharma companies and their allies have mounted at least 5 constitutional challenges to the Inflation Reduction Act's Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program. Critics call it a "sham" negotiation and maintain that it violates the Takings Clause, the Excessive Fines Clause, the separation of powers, the First Amendment, and other constitutional provisions. The program is due to commence, if not enjoined, by September, so by December, there may be court decisions to analyze. Billions of dollars are at stake, with PhRMA claiming that these price cuts will dramatically harm innovation.
