Radioisotope Heater Units (RHUs) | NASA Space Exploration Technology FriendsofNASA.org: One small, simple type of radioisotope power system that is extremely versatile is known as a radioisotope heater unit, or RHU. A single RHU passively radiates about one watt of heat. When placed carefully aboard a spacecraft or inside a rover, the heat energy from RHUs serves to keep a mission’s hardware at proper operating temperatures, compensating for the very cold temperatures often encountered in space exploration. RHUs have a rich history of use on NASA missions. They were first used with the science experiments that were left on the surface of the Moon in 1969 by the Apollo 11 astronauts. Later NASA missions have carried them to Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. All told, the United States has flown 300 RHUs on 32 space missions. Free energy, for the World, from Magnets U.S. patent 7531930 Energy Producing Magnetic Converter. I make Gravity after demonstrating space travel.
When doing a space travel demonstration, steel (spacecraft) goes away from (Earth) both Poles and then comes toward both Poles, it is required to make gravity. So I hypothesized that I could make gravity and here are the results. I made Gravity! https://lnkd.in/gPJu2uYs Imagine what you might discover, something much greater than energy from Magnets, I have and know you can too What if, ...? Who benefits from learning how?
The engineering team behind NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission did quick work to solve a big challenge in just 24 hours to prepare for a milestone mission rehearsal. The story of their fast brainstorming and manufacturing in my latest for engineering.com. Read the story here: https://lnkd.in/gt8TEwAM

NASA Artemis V Moon Rocket Engine Test#7: Preparing for Crewed Missions FriendsofNASA.org: An Aerojet Rocketdyne RS-25 rocket engine (RS-25 developmental engine E0525) was tested on the Fred Haise Test Stand (formerly A-1 Test Stand) at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, on February 23, 2024, at 13:04 Central Standard Time (19:04 UTC). This was the seventh hot fire test out of the 12 planned in the final round of certification testing ahead of production of an updated set of engines for NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) that will be used beginning with Artemis V. The test had a planned duration of 550 seconds, with the RS-25 engine running up to 113% power level, more than the level needed to power SLS. Why is NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration launching sounding rockets during the #eclipse? 🤔 During the solar eclipse, the APEP mission will study disturbances in the electrified region of Earth’s atmosphere known as the ionosphere that can impact satellite communications. To do this, #NASA will launch three sounding rockets at specific times into the ionosphere. Each sounding rocket will eject four secondary payloads the size of a two-liter soda bottle that will also take measurements during the flight. It's like launching fifteen rockets, while only launching three. The APEP mission launched during the October 2023 annular eclipse. During this mission, scientists saw a sharp reduction in the density of charged particles capable of affecting communications as the eclipse shadow passed over. The team will compare data from both missions. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/euJjmKz2 The launches are scheduled for Monday, April 8, beginning at 2:40 p.m. EDT and will be livestreamed to the Wallops YouTube channel. NASA Tests Inflatable Decelerator 🚀 NASA's Low-Earth Orbit Flight Test of an Inflatable Decelerator (LOFTID) mission, launched on November 10, 2022, successfully demonstrated an innovative inflatable heat shield technology. The Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator (HIAD) showed minimal damage after reentry, marking a significant achievement. This technology, tested in a relevant environment, promises to facilitate the safe descent of larger spacecraft on planets with atmospheres, overcoming the size limitations of current rigid aeroshells. Future applications include delivering heavy payloads and possibly crew to planets like Mars, Venus, and Saturn's Moon Titan. NASA plans further tests for diverse uses, including small satellite reentry and payload placement in cislunar space. Additionally, a collaboration with United Launch Alliance (ULA) is underway to develop a larger 12-meter HIAD for recovering Vulcan engines from low Earth orbit.
